1  High Cholesterol Stabbing pain in right toe, hip pain, brain fog, headaches, muscle aches, general tiredness I am allergic to statin drugs and was after many years waiting, finally approved for Repatha. My cholesterol dropped to 100 within two months, but after 10 months, I finally realized the issues I began having were from my biweekly injections. I am 66 and prior to beginning my injections I rode my bike 12 miles a day. I now struggle to find the motivation to ride once a week. I am hopeful that the side effects will dissipate over the next few months M 66 10 months

1  High cholesterol Severe swelling of legs. Feet. Ankles. Arms. Head. Severe dizziness that comes without warning. Have seen 8 doctors. Been tested. Scanned. Cleared for heart related illnesses. Brain scan due to severe debilitating headaches. Head swelling under skull. Eyes blurred. Nose runs constantly No antidote. Full life of drug 93 days it says. I had two injections when swelling and dizziness started. Took third and final one 7/15 and I'm still swollen nearly five months later. Have contacted FDA. Amgen and MedWatch. This drug needs to be off the market. It's so dangerous. I am not the same. I can hardly do anything anymore and see no light at end of this tunnel. Please call FDA. Please write them as well. Please contact Amgen. Tell others stay away from Repatha F 71 5 weeks

1  Heart attack high cholesterol Felt like I was having another heart attack 1-3 days after shot. Was told to take it with Benadryl before and after the shot. That helped but I was drowsy for 2 days from that. Then about 3 yrs in started having anxiety but didn't know it was the Repatha until I read these reviews. I am now off Repatha, stopped my Crestor and I am doing a Liver cleanse to get all the junk out of my system. I am starting to feel better but am still having sick days from it all. Would not recommend this for anyone. Dr's have no clue what the true side effects are. These should be listed on the med but aren't. F 60 5 years

5  Heart attack, stent, statins were After shot slight nausea, slight flushing sensation and some diarrhea over next 3 days then no negative effects... my rest is better..wake up easier... no brain fog if nothing else slight positive here...the biggest positive beyond the lowering my LDL from 144 ( has been in this range for 40 years with nothing helping to lower this) to 33... astounding.. and my HDL Went up to 44 from 32... this too had never cracked 40 before...but my BPH SYMTOMS went away... I no longer have to take Flomax...now it's only been 60 days but I was having major BPH problems... no longer.. Since the Statins were horrible and now my LDL has come down SIGNIFICANTLY I'll wait and see how the shots continue... the fact that this happens right when I have recieved a new stent and the elimination of Flomax.. I am extremely hopeful that this continues ...by the way my Triglycerides came down also into the acceptable range.. this had never happened before... M 74 60 days

1  High triglycerides and statin intol For the first three months all Went well and the drug worked incredible. My triglycerides went from near 500 to 149 and my cholesterol dropped from 189 to 60. It was great. I only had a stuffy head mainly at night and then diarrhea. After that time period the diarrhea increased along with blurry vision. By the beginning of august I started getting numbness in my feet and legs which eventually took me to a biting feeling on my skin a day after my last shot. Combining that with severe anxiety and shakiness that was affecting my legs mainly in my quads and hamstrings. I have had enough. The drug clearly works. Better than statins. But the risk for me doesn't outweigh the benefits. It is really a horrible feeling and I am hopeful that these feeling along with the severe diarrhea leaves. I am due for the shot again today and will never take that one again. I'll gladly go back to low dose Crestor and deal with those side effects. M 58 6 months

1  past history of heart disease with At first some statin-like minor neck and back pain then at week 12 excruciating, immobilizing pain affecting my hip region that had me wondering if I'd ever recover and be able to walk normally. It was a great lesson in humility as I begged my doctors for some kind pain relief. Now 3 weeks after the major pain event still taking my oxycodone but I think that things will slowly get back to normal. If you've had problems with statins and are thinking of trying Repatha then at the first sign of muscle pain and especially escalating symptoms then stop the Repatha immediately - you will not get used to the pain. At the very least ask your physician to arm you with strong analgesics as you may suddenly find yourself needing them. M 60 12 weeks

1  Repatha It really works well at lowering LDL. My problem started first as neck and back pain until I was hit with a vortex of extremely severe, immobilizing pain that attacked in my hip. The episode lasted for over 2 hours during which time there was nothing I could do as any movement would result in even more severe pain. The pain was worse than any toothache, earache or gout episode I had ever experienced. Am too afraid to ever try this again as it could land me in a wheelchair or worse. M 65 71 days

1  Stents, cholesterol Depression, body aches, mental fatigue and too many more to mention. In a previous post, I wrote I would take Repatha every 6 weeks instead of twice/month. Even that doesn't work to eliminate or even greatly reduce side effects. My cholesterol numbers did improve nicely. My take, some of us just have to either live with the side effects or stop taking Repatha. There's no getting used to it. M 71 8 months
