It makes me chill and sedated, I love it. Best drug I've tried so far and seriously the most helpful. I was extremely tired at first so I decreased my dosage and it got better. Anyway, this medicine works great, I take 50mg at night. I've put on some weight, but I was never overweight. The hunger is easy to control, just correct some behaviours. If you take it at night, when you start to get hungry go to sleep, if you can't control that eat something HEALTHY like a salad or soup. No cravings for food during the day at all and no cravings for sugar. I've been an insomniac since I was 12, so the fact that this helps me sleep VERY well would normally be a good thing. But it makes me sleep ALL DAY, which has often made me decide not to take it for several days at a time (bad idea, of course). | Because this is, apparently, the only AP I can physically tolerate, I have little choice but to stay on it. I've found that dividing the doses throughout the day really helps. (I'm on 100, so I take 25 in the morning and afternoon, and the other 50 before bed.) That way, I get enough sedation to help me sleep through the night (about 7-9 hours, depending on how much I need), but I'm not bombarding my system with so much at one time that I sleep all day. Aside from the sleeping problem, this has worked surprisingly well in controlling my symptoms. (After very bad experiences with other APs, I was very skeptical that it would work.) I'd stutter..get confused, memory problems..of which still occur. Don't take EVERYDAY, take as NEEDED.
