4  Seasonal allergies More prone to VERY slight nosebleeds; mild stimulant effects in the first week of treatment which made it more difficult to sleep. Compared to the horrible side effects of Flonase, Nasacort really seems like a good choice. It works wonders on allergy symptoms with very minimal side effects. After the first week, I cut my dose in half and still had no allergies. M 34 3 weeks

3  Severe nasal allergy symptoms Persistent cough and wheezing that was worse at night. I have horrible allergies and have had little to no relief with other medications besides Benadryl. Nasacort did wonders! I could breathe out of my nose and was not sneezing all of the time. But about a week into taking the medication, I developed a very persistent cough that would not let up and audible wheezing. The symptoms were worse at night making it hard to sleep. Therefore I am no longer taking the medication, I would rather take Benadryl and be tired than sound and feel like I have smoked for 30 years. F 23 3 weeks

2  Allergies and sinus congestion I have seasonal allergies.I cleaned my apartment and my allergies flared up. I took the generic version of this drug. I had a bad headache before taking it and the drug prolonged it I was laid out for a month thinking I had a virus. With such a bad headache I forgot to take it for a couple of days. My headache nearly disappeared. Took it on the third day and the headache and it's intensity returned within 5 minutes. Additionally, this stuff has really messed up my stomach. Awful diarrhea and burning stomach and intestines. I missed quite a number of days of work while on it. Stomach is still upset. Never used more than directed: one to two sprays in each nostril per day. Two years ago I used the brand name for an entire summer and part of the fall and at that time it was a miracle drug without any side effects. Cleared up all my allergies. I have a feeling I have an issue with the generic or have developed an intolerance to an ingredient both in the brand and the generic. M 34 3 weeks

1  Post nasal drip, ear fluid Pounding heart, chest tightness, neck stiffness I started taking based off of my ENT suggestion for my post nasal drip that was causing my ear pain and fluid buildup. It had immediately helped my ear fluid build up and that felt better. However, after the first week of taking it I noticed many unfamiliar symptoms. I am a very healthy 26 year old with no past medical history. No allergies. I ended up going to urgent care twice for shortness of breath, feeling like my chest was so tight I needed to rip my shirt off. Also started having terrible neck and upper back pain. I had to sleep with heating pads and lidocaine patches for a few nights figuring i moved the wrong way. But again, I’m a healthy and active 26 year old and have never had this happen before. My vitals were very normal (BP 111/59, HR 55, O2 98%). I had an ekg, chest X-ray, and blood work done, all normal. I was frustrated feeling like something must be very wrong. Luckily I started digging and found this website. I will be stopping this medication today, hoping this is the problem. Nothing else has changed (no new, or any for that matter, medications, no new foods/drinks, or lifestyle changes). Would not recommend. F 26 3 weeks

1  Allergies I already have high blood pressure but it was regulated with medication. However upon taking this medication I almost had to go to the hospital because it spiked so much. My heart rate also became very high and I gained some weight with no other lifestyle changes. This is advertised as safe for people with heart problems BUT IT IS NOT. I am trying to contact them to report the problems I had. F 28 3 weeks

2  Allergies nasal blockage at night It worked for 3 to 4 hours and then it was very hard to get back to sleep. I have stopped it as of 5 days ago and have suffered a headache during the night each day. Prior to 5 days ago it was years since I had a headache. Trying something else M 59 4 weeks

3  Sinus infection Was on antibiotics and steroid pills for 2 weeks with Nasacort AQ continued. I 've been since experiencing ringing in my ears with a click sound at times. A throbbing also in my left ear sometimes in time with my heartbeat. Some anxiety I have never experienced before. Very concerned. I was wondering if it is the effects of the infection or is it side effects now that I came up on this site. F 53 5 weeks

3  nasal congestion Used nasacort for awhile, then the anxiety started slowly but increased in intensity to the point i could not relax at all and felt high anxiety daily. The began to have a chronic tickle in my throat that would make me cough all day. Also had to go to the eye dr as i started to see flashing lights in my left eye. Nasacort worked for my congestion, but not great. Going back on claratin. I was feeling worse with all the side effects as time went on. Bad side effects over time. F 58 6 weeks

1  Blocked ears/sinus Stiff neck, headache, anxiety, depression, irrational thinking, paranoia, muscle spasms, weakness of muscles. Brain fog. DO NOT take this spray. I am so relieved I found this website because after reading other peoples comments I now know I'm not turning into a mental case. The symptoms of taking this spray nearly cost me my marriage, I'm not joking! My personality changed from a happy laid back person into a lunatic! I'd rather have blocked ears...which I still have as it didn't actually work anyway! I followed my doctors advice to the letter and took this medication religiously. After two days I had really bad stiff neck but had no idea it could be due to this spray, I just thought I'd slept in an odd position. This is day one of not taking this medication after weeks of hell... I'm not looking forward to any withdrawal symptoms but they can't be any worse than the horrible side affects that I have experienced! The brain fog was so bad I seem to have lost half of my vocabulary! If you enjoy being a sane and happy person then this is not the medication for you! By the way... NONE of the depression or mental side effects are listed on the leaflet. F 37 7 weeks

1  Sinus infection, allergies Horrible anxiety, panic attacks, blood pressure spike. Light headedness, acne, weight gain Have been on for about 7 weeks , worst summer of my life, basically to work and home couldn't leave the house due to horrible anxiety and light headedness almost all the time. Cleared up my nose but was not worth it. I stopped taking it about 1 week ago and still have side effects, I pray this goes away. Be careful. M 36 7 weeks
