1 | Post-nasal drip, allergies | Panic attacks, insomnia, sore throat, dizziness, increase anxiety, horrible feeling. | My doctor never told me there may be side effects. I haven't gotten a decent night's sleep since I started taking this. I never associated my insomnia with this drug until I saw it on this web site--thank you! | M | 64 | 5 days 1X day | 11/9/2014 | 1 | Swollen sinuses | After a few days, I was afflicted w/ a dreadful sinus infection which lasted for weeks, the syptoms of which are much more severe than those which were supposedly being treated. | Seemed to help @ first. | M | 76 | 5 days 2X day | 9/29/2014 | 1 | Allergy relief | I had a clear nose when I used it on the 5th day since it seemed to be working. I sprayed in each nostril and immediately started to violently sneeze, wheeze, my nasal passages swelled shut, and my nose began to run profusely. Since I take my allergy meds at night, I was unable to sleep causing for a horrible work day. This drug is supposed to relieve symptoms for 24 hours not cause them to start and last for 24 hours. | I will stick to my Zyrtec. | F | 26 | 5 days 2 sprays | 6/13/2015 | 1 | allergies | Jittery, nervous, quick temper (OTC bottle states 55 mcg per spray, 2 sprays in each nostril once a day, tapering to 1 spray in each nostril once a day). | Have bad allergies, usually just breath thru mouth all the time. Tried Nasacort OTC, it does open up sinus BUT by day 4 the jitters had be wondering what was going on. Its like having 5 pots of coffee. If you're a smoker, its like you haven't had a smoke in 10 hours. I've been trying to figure out what in the world was going on because I'm not doing anything else differently. Got online this morning, typed Nasacort and nervousness and found this site. Can't thank the posters enough for reporting this. Tossing the Nasacort. I'd rather breath thru the mouth than be this dang jittery. | F | 52 | 5 days 55 mcg 1X day | 4/28/2015 | 1 | seasonal allergies | Nausea, headaches, stomach pain & cough | Not worth the side effects ! | F | 49 | 5 days normal | 5/6/2015 | 4 | allergies & sinus infection | Nasacort worked. But excruciating headaches. Sinus inflammation improved and will stop using. | F | 62 | 6 days 2x then 1x 1X day | 6/7/2014 | 3 | seasonal allergies | Worked very well to open my nasal passages. Mild anxiety at night. Seem to have lost my sense of smell. | F | 55 | 6 days | 4/14/2014 | 2 | sinus infection symptoms | helped clear congestion, but that is largely outweighed by multiple nosebleeds in the last two days. | have given up product after a week taking only one to two sprays per day, in the same nostril that is affected. | M | 25 | 6 days | 7/30/2008 | 2 | allergies | I would get a sore throat after inhaling. Headaches at night. Only got partial relief from the congestion. After 5 days I noticed my sense of smell has greatly decreased. I am stopping this medicine due to the side effects. | F | 45 | 6 days one puff 1X day | 5/13/2014 | 2 | sinus congestion, chronic | Insomnia, light headache, anxiety, anger | It cleared my nasal passages the first day and has greatly improved my breathing but I've also been having light headaches. The past two nights I have found it very difficult to fall asleep and woke up several times after I had managed to sleep. My anxiety has also increased and I've been having a difficult time controlling my anger. I have overreacted to things and lashed out. The first three days were fantastic besides the headache, but it seems prolonged usage is not an option for me. It seems to be exacerbating my underlying anxiety and mood disorders. | F | 28 | 6 days 110mcg | 4/2/2019 | 1 | Seasonal allergies | Extreme diarrhea, abdominal discomfort and intermittent sharp abdominal pains, back pain/stiffness, increased tooth sensitivity | Reading the side effects others have posted just blows my mind. This whole week I have been trying to figure out what was causing all of my seemingly unrelated symptoms and I am shocked to realize it was the nasacort! I am really disappointed because it really cleared up my allergy symptoms! I normally take Zyrtec but the cedar was so high, it wasn't enough. Ugh! Just grateful I did not start to have anxiety as that is something I am prone to. I have been more emotional. Could be from worrying about all of the other weird symptoms! :( | F | 41 | 6 days 55 mcg | 1/30/2016 | 1 | flem in throat. | brain fog, anxiety, cant focus on anything. Pain in my legs. | flonaise works better without crazy side effects. | F | 37 | 6 days 110mcg 1X day | 8/27/2020 | 1 | allergic rhinitis | Using only 1 spray per nostril once daily, I experienced nasty headaches. When I discontinued Nasacort AQ, they stopped. | F | 58 | 6 days | 7/10/2009 | 1 | Severe headaches, Nausea and Coughing. It was so severe that i had to go to the emergency. I underwent blood test, CT Scan and lumbar Puncture (Removing Fluid from the Spinal Cord). They said it was viral infection and it will go out. | I believe that the damage it has caused in me was not worth the temporary relief i felt for the first two days. | F | 27 | 6 days 1X day | 2/13/2013 | 5 | Nasal Allergies | I had been miserable with coughing and post nasal drip till I could have screamed. Most days I was dragging through my day. I decided to try Nasacort. Wow I can not believe how much better I am. My energy is back and I can breathe! Post nasal drip is 90% better. I feel bad for others who had trouble but I have not thus far. Today instead if laying in bed with fatigue and sinus pressure I went shopping with my cousin. I haven't done that in I can't remember how long. Hope others will have similar experience. :) | F | 37 | 7 days 30 | 3/16/2014 | 5 | Sinus Congestion | Overall, I feel like this product does what it is designed to do. My congestion is 90% better, and I feel much better. I did have a nosebleed on day 7, but I'm not entirely sure it's due to the Nasacort, as I've had semi-frequent nosebleeds since I was a child. It does take a couple days of use to get the full effect of the medication. I'm satisfied with it. | M | 24 | 7 days 55 mcg | 5/24/2014 | 4 | Seasonal allergies | It cleared my sinuses pretty quickly but pretty much immediately after I took it I was insanely drowsy and fell asleep for another 4 hours | M | 16 | 7 days 110 mcg | 6/21/2014 | 3 | Seasonal and chemical allergies | It was too strong in the dosage recommended, I had headaches, dizziness and insomnia. I would go to bed at midnight but wake up at 3am everyday and not be able to sleep. The insomnia, dizziness and headaches went away after I started using Nasacort less frequently, every other day instead and one dosage a day too. It's been controlling my allergies pretty well now and I can actually sleep at night. | F | 37 | 7 days 1X AN | 6/20/2014 | 3 | sinus pain, constant nasty mucus | Screaming headache, dry throat/mouth, muscle and joint pain | It cleared up the sinus problem after about a week, but I will not continue with this med like my doc prescribed. I feel like I have the flu with all this muscle and joint pain. My hands and jaw are particularly sore. I'm too young to walk like my father! | F | 46 | 7 days | 2/4/2009 | 3 | Stuffy nose, weaning off Afrin | My nasal symptoms are better, but I'm experiencing non-stop twitching in my left quadriceps muscle and dull pain in both calves. The pain feels like it's about to become a charley horse. | My main goal was to wean off Afrin, so I'm going to quit the Nasacort and see if the muscle symptoms resolve. If I'm less dependent on Afrin going forward, then I'll count the short term experience with Nasacort as a success. | F | 43 | 7 days 1 puff 1X day | 8/15/2014 |
