1  Chronic blocked nose I was prescribed nasonex to help battle chronic blocked nose, recommended by my ENT. It helped minimally but did not completely clear my symptoms. Then last night I experienced extreme palpitations and chest pain along with anxiety. I felt like I was going to die and was awake all night. Called my GP first thing this morning and he said to stop taking nasonex immediately. I wouldn't recommend due to the severity of the side effects! F 32 14 days

1  Seasonal Allergies I took it for 4 days, which did clear my nose up each day I took it. So I tried a day without it, nose was fine. Second day, nose was fine. I thought, great. Then whammo EXTREME panic attacks, anxiety out the ying yang. Heart palpitations, inability to handle ANY sort of stress. I've been trying to figure out what caused my sudden panic situation. I looked back in my appointment dates, that's when I got Nasonex. Worst medication ever M 40 4 days

1  post- flu sinus first few days I had a dry nose and felt sick on and off, but today has been the worst of my life. eye pressure behind left eye that began to spread across my head and to my other eye, became absolutely unbearable like someone was stabbing me in both eyes continuously. I have never experienced such pain and I just didn’t know what to do, I was in such a panic., It had got the tiniest bit less painful but still extreme about an hour on. I will NEVER ever ever use this again as I am certain it’s what’s caused this agony that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I genuinely felt like I had a brain tumour and was seconds away from death. And there I was thinking my flu pain was bad. DO NOT RECOMMEND F 27 4 days

2  Sinusitis It gave me very intense throat pain and difficulty swallowing. I was also experiencing significant tightness in my chest that would cyclically come and go throughout the day. I was initially attributing this to my pneumonia recovery from 6 weeks ago, but it got worse as the week went on. Finally called the pharmacy after waking up wheezing at 3 am, and they said to stop taking it immediately. It seems like i am allergic to either the drug or something in it, but it also did nothing at all to help clear my sinuses - if anything, I feel like it may have blocked them further. However, I can understand that everybody's physiology is different and not all meds work the same for all people. M 35 6 days

1  Hay fever I have had hay fever the last couple of springs, but I usually don’t take anything to treat it. This year it was so bad so I decided to take nasonex. I’m so upset that I took it. I stoped taking it a week ago but I still extremely bad side effects. I have really bad heart palpitations, I’ve had dizzy bouts, sore eyes, a feeling in my chest like I can’t breath and anxiety. How long will it take for the symptoms to stop? F 34 4 days

1  Non-allergic rhinitis Anxiety, low mood and weight gain Avoid Nasonex - find an alternative! I genuinely thought I was going mad experiencing all the side effects - especially the weight gain as I have always been slim and really struggled to figure out why I had gained weight as my diet/exercise regime had not changed. I then read comments about other people experiencing the same thing along with anxiety and low mood and it all made sense. Genuinely wish I had never used this stuff. It should not be prescribed so freely. F 27 3 months

1  Allergies Increased nasal pressure, increased headache, exacerbated nasal symptoms, anxiety, panic attacks, racing heart, migraine Absolutely dreadful experience. I was on it for 7 days when I couldn’t tolerate the side effects anymore. And I’ve had side effects ever since I’ve stopped taking it 6 days ago. I’m curious to know if the side effects ever end? I ended up having to go the hospital as I had meningitis symptoms, had a spinal tap, and it was clear. I even had a CT scan and that was clear. If I could rate this product zero I would. F 42 7 days

1  Clear sinuses The drug worked and cleared my sinuses after two weeks of taking it now around the fourth week I am experiencing shortness of breath and a heavy feeling on my chest like I can’t breath. Also feels similar to what an anxiety attack is supposed to feel like. Although I have have zero history with anxiety. I also struggle to swallow things every once and a while. I have since stopped taking the drug and am feeling better after just two days. F 19 4 days

1  Nasal congestion Extreme anxiety and panic attack. I was at Bob Evans, and the walls started closing in around me. I got home and started crying and had a very strong (and irrational) fear that the popping noise in my ear from my sinus congestion would never go away. I have 0 history of panic attacks so i assumed the likely culprit was Nasonex and wouldn't you know, multiple people reported similar side effects. A side effect i might add that isn't listed. Don't sniff this stuff unless you want to go on a vision quest. No. M 38 2 days
