| 2 | GAD | To start it actually increased my anxiety to the point I had to supplement with Xanax which before starting, I was only taking when needed. .. since stating Busbar I had to supplement every day .. why??? Also created intolerable insomnia .. which just made the anxiety worse the next day .. stomach, dry eyes and mouth , muscle issues, bowell issues .. one day I'd feel great the next I'd feel like death ... Of course my primary told me only side effect was a little drowsiness .. they are so clueless .. its pathetic .. yes I was drowsy , and felt in a fog most of the day until the dose wore off .. just too much I'll effects for me .. what's the point ? | I had 2 decent days out of 11... I don't trust this drug .. just not worth it at this point .. I said screw it im shaving my head.... the day before I did I ran out of Buspar.... it was a little under a week till I could refill my perscription... the next 5 days were fine no itching I said i guess I just needed to brush my scalp wich i did before i shaved it.... I get my perscription a week later and the next day after taking it i wake up with dry skin all over my scalp and head I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I im done throwing away my bottle as we speak.. Laughed and played all day with my son with NO anxiety. That is rare.im praying this works for me. If I could just stay asleep at night I wouldn't complain. I also take klonopin. I'm going to call my Dr tomorrow to see what he recommends... this anxiety has been a 8 year battle. Nothing else! | It has helped so much with the weird paranoia-type anxiety I have been getting lately on top of my schizoaffective and general anxiety, and my uncontrollable brooding on negative thoughts that were leading to extreme moods. I was having signs of depression coming back, too, like losing motivation and energy, general negative mood, etc. I was put on this to augment my SSRI since it boosts seratonin in a way that compliments SSRI's mode of action plus this med boosts dopamine a bit. It has helped a lot with all of the symptoms mentioned plus the aggression and irritability I was experiencing. It started working quickly for me, within the first few days, and I have had a few episodes but it seems to be gradually increasing in effectiveness. It has a subtle effect, not the doped up "relaxed" feeling you get from some other anxiety meds, but it has helped me greatly with minimal side effects. I believe in waiting out a treatment method at least a month or so because side effects usually fade with time. My doctor informed me that it is also due to anxiety (I'm an anxious person). I've never had and physical symptoms of anxiety until After being on buspirone. A little less than a month of being on the med I had my first anxiety attack. That was at 7.5mg twice a day. I went to the ER and the doctor told me I should check with my doctor about it. I checked with my physician and he said to increase the dosage. I did so. 15mg 2 times a day. The attacks started to become more and more prevalent. I went on a trip for work and as soon as I got to the airport it felt like my sugars were going low (type 2 diabetes). I checked them and they were fine but the whole trip it felt as though my heart was going to pound out of my chest. When I returned home a week later I again met with my physician. I told him what has been happening and requested an EKG. Everything came back clear and (which was a relief). The doctor instructed me to continue with the higher dosage and we would speak again in a month at my regular check up. That whole time the symptoms continued as well as got worse. At my next appt my doctor told me to increase the dosage again. 30mg twice a day. I did this. Throughout the next 2 months my symptoms continued to worsen. (Literally felt like a 24/7 heart attack). I wasn't sleeping, I was irritated, and more anxious than I've ever been in my life! I have extremely low blood pressure anyway. I'm not on cloud 9 any longer. I'm just kind of blah, not crying but not smiling either. My OCD is pretty bad, I think and think and obsess!!! I'm staying on the med because it's taken this long for all of these side effects to show up, so maybe they will come and go. I'm also calling my Doc today, because the stiff neck is really bothering me. I did have night sweats but they stopped and so did nightmares. Don't give up on this drug right away!!
