It calmed me down and helped me sleep. I was told it was not addictive. After three years of taking it I started getting mild flu symptoms. These steadily increased. I talked to my doctor and we decided to come off the Buspar to see if it was responsible. I quit taking it and the next day I had the worst flu I have had in awhile. Stayed home for two days. I went back on the Buspar and got better, but still had moderate flu symptoms. We decided to slowly decrease dosage. I've been off for almost a month and still have headaches, body aches and nausea, but they are SLOWLY improving. This is a hard drug to quit for me. | M | 51 | 3 years 45 MG 1X day | 9/30/2019 | 5 | Anxiety, panic attacks | None | It’s working. No panic attacks, fewer heart palpitations, better handling stress. Definitely not right for me. I feel more depressed several months in, I have all the muscles aches, leg pain, and feeling of unwell all the time, weight gain, I am tapering myself off this, it is horrible, the side effects are worse than what you were originally prescribed it for. I cant stand to go to a restaurant or other places where people are loud and having fun. It's awful! Please be careful about starting this med | F | 48 | 4 months 15 mg per | 7/16/2019 | 4 | Panic attacks & GAD | Some insomnia and brain fog! | Buspar has really helped me I've been on it 19 days now! I take 5mg in the morning 2.5mg in the afternoon and 2.5mg at night! I've had some good days but then I'll have a bad day! Anyone else experience this?? Will I start to notice a difference any time soon? | F | 29 | 19 days 10 mg | 7/2/2019 | 2 | Anxiety | Too many to describe | I spoke with my Dr. about mild anxiety that I have had for many years, but not to the point I couldn't function. I had a trip to the ER which increased my anxiety...which was due to diverticulitis. I had a horrible reaction to the antibiotic they put me on, which caused muscle spasms and tremors all over my body, which left me unable to sleep, which in turn lead me to be unproductive at work and severe anxiety that I had never had before. She suggested Buspar since I don't take any meds, drink and am a very active person, that works in outside sales. She started me out on 5mg twice daily. After 2 weeks, I felt great, then I started the 3rd and 4th week and I had my first ever panic attack. She told me to take 2.5 twice a day and still felt worse than I ever did before I started this. I have finally weaned myself to 2.5 once a day and will be stopping this drug. I felt better on my worst day before this drug than I ever felt after taking it. I have had hand shakiness, neck and head twinges that feel like the back of my head is vibrating. It also makes me extremely moody and has increased my anxiety even on this low of a dose and light headiness. I was hoping it would work because I have no desire to go on a SSRI, which I tried many years ago when going through Menopause. I didn't feel anything for 2 years while on Zoloft. My Dr. was also hoping it would help me sleep, which it did just the opposite so I am now taking Xanax to sleep at night from the anxiety of this | F | 58 | 4 weeks 5 2X day | 7/2/2019 | 3 | Anxiety GAD | When first started with this I started with taking 1 5mg per day. The side effects of feeling dizzy was horrible. I was dizzy almost all day. I finally realized this medicine could cause it and halfed my dose to 2.5mg per day and immediately that work. I am on week 7week and I needed to up my dose to taking 2.5 mg in the morning and 2.5mgbin the evening. Now I am experiencing tingling everywhere. This has caused my anxiety to worsen. I am feeling my anxiety coming back. | This helped calm my thoughts and has kept me calm. But I can feel when it has worn out. | F | 40 | 2 months 5mg | 5/12/2019 | 1 | Gad | Felt dizziness Nausea couldn’t eat for days had suicidal thoughts that I’ve never had before couldn’t sleep anxiety turned into panic attacks which I never had before also gave me racing thoughts that go on for hourS gave me blurred vision and heart palpitations also changed me as a person don’t like doing what I used to do not very social anymore. | This medication is horrible please stay away from it I’ve been off the medication for 2 months almost 3 and I’m still having symptoms that I started to get when I first took the medication . This medication is life changing in the wrong ways | 24 | 6 days 5mg 3x | 4/8/2019 | 1 | Anxiety | Shaking hyper nervous headache.. Acting like a maniac. | I am not taking it any more and calling my Dr. | F | 53 | 2 days 5 mg twice | 3/30/2019 | 1 | Anxiety | Increased heart rate, shakiness in hands, higher blood pressure, vocal tremor | I've developed an essential tremor and stutter and I'm pissed | F | 23 | 4 days 10 mg 2x | 3/27/2019 | 1 | anxiety, migraine | Light headed shortly after ingestion which lasted about an hour. Sleep disturbances. | Did almost nothing for anxiety, made migraine frequency a bit less. But I had to stop because of the terrible dreams at night which woke me up. Sometimes I could get back to sleep, other times no. This happened almost every night - sometimes twice per night if I could get back to sleep. The only thing that is effective for me is diazapam and the docs are afraid to prescribe it nowadays even though it worked for me for years. | M | 50 | 6 months 10 2X day | 3/16/2019 |
