Definitely not right for me. I feel more depressed several months in, I have all the muscles aches, leg pain, and feeling of unwell all the time, weight gain, I am tapering myself off this, it is horrible, the side effects are worse than what you were originally prescribed it for. I cant stand to go to a restaurant or other places where people are loud and having fun. It's awful! Will I start to notice a difference any time soon? | F | 29 | 19 days 10 mg | 7/2/2019 | 2 | Anxiety | Too many to describe | I spoke with my Dr. about mild anxiety that I have had for many years, but not to the point I couldn't function. I had a trip to the ER which increased my anxiety...which was due to diverticulitis. I had a horrible reaction to the antibiotic they put me on, which caused muscle spasms and tremors all over my body, which left me unable to sleep, which in turn lead me to be unproductive at work and severe anxiety that I had never had before. She suggested Buspar since I don't take any meds, drink and am a very active person, that works in outside sales. She started me out on 5mg twice daily. After 2 weeks, I felt great, then I started the 3rd and 4th week and I had my first ever panic attack. She told me to take 2.5 twice a day and still felt worse than I ever did before I started this. I have finally weaned myself to 2.5 once a day and will be stopping this drug. I felt better on my worst day before this drug than I ever felt after taking it. I have had hand shakiness, neck and head twinges that feel like the back of my head is vibrating. It also makes me extremely moody and has increased my anxiety even on this low of a dose and light headiness. I was hoping it would work because I have no desire to go on a SSRI, which I tried many years ago when going through Menopause. I didn't feel anything for 2 years while on Zoloft. My Dr. was also hoping it would help me sleep, which it did just the opposite so I am now taking Xanax to sleep at night from the anxiety of this | F | 58 | 4 weeks 5 2X day | 7/2/2019 | 3 | Anxiety GAD | When first started with this I started with taking 1 5mg per day. The side effects of feeling dizzy was horrible. I was dizzy almost all day. I finally realized this medicine could cause it and halfed my dose to 2.5mg per day and immediately that work. I am on week 7week and I needed to up my dose to taking 2.5 mg in the morning and 2.5mgbin the evening. Now I am experiencing tingling everywhere. This has caused my anxiety to worsen. It took about 1 week before I saw some benefits especially for the anxiety, 2 weeks for improved mood and concentration and 1 month for decreased agressivity, impulsivity, irritability and panick attacks. I take buspirone 10 mg at breakfast and 10 mg at 4 pm and I can tell that I am more productive at work, with better interpersonal relationships with co-workers and family, I have a better quality of life. I have more energy and I have a more proctive life. I dont understand the reviews that didn't try buspirone for at least one month. It's not a benzo, you dont feel a buzz and sedation. I was on klonopin before, and after valium to be able to get off that addictive dirty drug that cause strong physical and psychological addiction, that even increased anxiety when your body needs it. I do some group and individual psychotherapy for borderline personality and past drug addictions since 2 years. Drugs are not a cure to your problems, they help the symptoms, but you need to change your bad habits and the way you think to influence your emotions in a positive way. CBT therapy is helping me a great deal and you need alertness to follow it. | M | 39 | 5 months 10 MG 2X day | 1/22/2019 | 2 | GAD | Headache, nausea, vomiting, increased anxiety, depression | At times it felt like Buspar was working however it seemed to increase anxiety overall. Some days felt great but others I felt terrible, headache, nausea would get nauseated and vomit daily. Would get extremely tired and sleepy. Going through withdrawal after quitting cold turkey. Extreme headache for 4 weeks, panic attack that put me in the bed for four days. Absolutely miserable experience.
