| 3 | Osteopenia | 3 rd month taking generic Boniva, Ibandromate Sodium tablet . Severe bone pain. Every sports injury, every auto accident injury, are very painful. Pain does not correspond to all areas of my body that my bone scan indicated have osteopenia. | I am frustrated & taking max dose of extra strength acetaminophen. I was 58, in extremely good health, not overweight, and exercised daily. After one pill my face started to hurt. The way I described it to my husband was that it felt like I was in a car accident without a seatbelt and my face smashed into the dashboard/windshield of the car. It was not a normal headache. My face ACHED. My eye sockets (bones surrounding my eyes) ached so bad I wanted to cry. I had payroll and other important things to do at work so I could not take off but the pain was excruciating. This went on for TWELVE days and I only took 1 pill. We had planned a trip to Spain & I was not even sure if I could go. (The pain finally went away the day before the trip.). I was horrified that one tiny pill could do something like this to a healthy person and I refused to take another dose. After this, I discovered that my mother s dentist did not want to touch her if she took this type of bone-strengthening drug. Also, a few months ago I ran into an old friend. She informed me that she had broken BOTH femurs at separate times and the doctor blamed the bone-strengthening drug for the breaks!!!! This woman is very skinny and has always been thin, so it is not like someone who has bad knees due to being hundreds of pounds overweight or anything like that.
