| 1 | Bacterial Infection | I was rx this for a bacterial infection after shaving my lady parts and getting a cut which became infected. On the 8th day of taking medication I felt like there was a hole in my lung every time I took a breath. On the 10th day I developed a fever of 101.05. Turns out I have an allergy to this medicine. I still have terrible heartburn, no appetite, rash on my stomach and thighs, and a headache, it's been 5 days since my last dose. | F | 39 | 10 days 2X day | 11/19/2020 | 1 | Skin infection cellulitis | TERRIBLE I almost DIED last week. I was taking Bactrim for an infection that wouldn't go away with antibiotic cream... I was on it for a week 2 pills per day and had a SEVERE DELAYED ALLERGIC REACTION! Every part of my body was affected; HIVES, 100.3 fever, swollen lips and eyes, red eyes, vision loss, headache that lasted almost 2 weeks (today is the first day without the headache or extreme eye pain but vision is still blurry and mild uncomfortable feeling) extreme nausea, chills, hot flashes, night sweats, swelling in the brain, stomach pain, heartburn, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, muscle spasms/jerking/soreness... I'm sure this isn't all of my symptoms but I had to go to urgent care and the hospital.. this medicine is not medicine it is poison! We all need to learn and do our own medicine. Plants people!!! I have been taking prednisone and ibuprofen for pain/inflammation but the ONLY thing that helped my head and eye pain was MARIJUANA. Please don't take this drug. I am thankful that I am here today to write this as a WARNING to you. I would never wish this to happen to ANYONE. I love you all Email to ANYONE who wants to talk. But the side effects were terrible. I had to stop taking it. On day 3 I noticed my legs feeling numbness and pain in my hips. I continued to take it for another 4 days and decided to completely stop the end of day 7. I was supposed to take it for 14 days. After being blood tested, I found out I had very high liver enzyme levels (which is not good). | While the liver damage was curable (I stopped taking Bactrim and flushed my system and my liver) I also developed a bacterial infection in my colon called c. diff. colitis. It may or may not have been caused by Bactrim, or caught in the hospital while I was being treated for the liver damage caused by Bactrim. Symptoms of this were severe stomach pains, swelling, throbbing, and diarrhea. And when I do eat, it gets much worse. I have also had multiple panic attacks and migraines. I struggle with panic attacks and migraines to begin with, but only about once or twice a month. Never multiple times in one week. I have a fear of throwing up and this medication has made that 10x worse.
