Pounding (slightly) heartbeat wasn't a factor unless trying to sleep and not much one then as the the Perc made one drowsy. The severe constipation I experienced was a major factor for me, and is the reason I will never take it again. (Severe means mega painful elimination, say half as painful as breaking a leg painful) I would highly recommend that you drink plenty of liquids and maybe add some fiber to your diet when taking this drug. All that can be done is to sleep. After skipping the drug for two days, I took half a pill, resulting in a splitting 12-hr headache. The remainder of the prescription is in my trash!
