| 1 | Heavy Periods/ Acne | Absolutely awful experience. I started taking Junel to help with my heavy cycles and hormonal acne. The first month i started taking it, my acne got extremely worse but i was told to wait atleast three months to see a difference, so i kept taking them. However, immediately it started to help with the heavy periods. On the the second month and i was doing fine until i realized i was short of breath easily. I decided to check my resting heart rate 120bpm and my blood pressure 132/100. This triggered a lot of anxiety and heart palpitations. I stopped taking them three weeks ago and im still dealing with heart palpitations and elevated heart rate. Currently wearing a heart monitor due to sinus tachycardia on the ekg. DONOT TAKE THIS PILL!!!!! PLEASE | TRY OTHER HOLISTIC METHODS. No breaks. I decided I wanted to try the IUD. First Kyleena, then the Copper IUD. I was experiencing painful sex, recurring infections and horrible cramping not associated with my period. So I decided to give birth control a try again and wanted to be on a low dose of hormones. BIG mistake. I have been on this pill for two months, and within 5 days of taking it the first month I felt this horrible change. The middle of my cycle on this pill seemed to be the worst. I have had the worst anxiety I’ve had in my life, depression and overall feeling like I’m losing my mind. I will not be continuing this pill. While being on the shot I would experience extremely bad headaches everyday, I also got my period for a whole month and for someone with anemia that's not good. So that's when I decided to switch to the pill. I have been on it for 2 weeks and it's probably my body getting used to it and the fact that I switched from a different type of birth control but so far I am not liking it at all. I get extremely nauseous all the time and horrible cramps. I am also very small, my weight is 100 lb. and I had always struggled with gaining weight so me feeling nauseous all the time = no wanting to eat anything = losing more weight. I was put on birth control to regulate my periods since I would bleed a lot and would cause my anemia. But at this point ever since I started being on birth control I had always felt sick and so unmotivated to do anything. My OB wants me to stick to HRT for at least one more year, but I don't know if I can make it another week on this crap. | It SUCKS!!!!!!!!!! I was happy and had a positive outlook. But then I started the second pack and I just finished the first week. The last couple days I have felt extreme anxiety, heavy chest, depressing thoughts, mind not stopping, pulse racing and so so negative to the point that I had to call my therapist during an anxiety attack. I've never had one of those. I'm going to to go off of this birth control and see if my mood changes. I'm really hoping this is the cause because I haven't ever had severe mental health issues and I feel like I do right now. Plus I still have acne. | My OB said that it takes 3 months for my body to adjust so maybe my acne would get better but it's not worth the wait for the sake of my mental health. I was told I had no known cause for it. I didn't realize that it could have been from the Junel fe birth control. I started it in 2/2019 and stopped 5/2021. I didn't see improvement with the Bell's palsy until after I stopped the birth control. I was able to smile more symmetrical and started to look a little more normal.
