| 1 | Birth control | Bloating everyday, constipation, horrible cramps, no period even on sugar pills | PLEASE! I urge you to not take this birth control. I have been on BC for 5 years and have gotten switched to multiple generics. NONE! I repeat NONE other than Junel FE 1/20 gave me constant bloating, constipation everyday, horrible cramping that I have NEVER experienced, and NO sign of bleeding on sugar pills. That freaks me out! I disliked this pill so much that I just called to have it switched and am picking up a different one in the morning. Please hear me out I have tried tons (Loestrin, Lomedia, Minastrin, gildess, larin) they all were fine. JUNEL IS A DISASTER! This medicine has effective my performance at work, I am not as productive as I was prior to this medicine. I do not accomplish as much in a day as I did prior to this medicine. I have yelled at my child more in the past two months than I ever have in my life. My SO and I have had more arguments in the past two months than we have in the past year. Previously I had been on Microgestin, but was switched to this after my last exam. During the short time I had taken this medication I have had swelling in the extremities (fingers & feet), a weight gain of 13 pounds with NO change in my diet or exercise routine (I am a routine spin class person), constipation, heart palpitations, chest tightness & migranes 3 weeks in a row. After the 3rd migraine, I called my prescribing HCP & she had advised to stop taking this medication , as the estrogen was likely causing these issues. My OBGYN prescribed Junel Fe for me and I had never taken a birth control before but I figured I might as well try it considering I’m getting married in a few months. The first month on this medicine was great! My period pain was gone, I didn’t bloat, my breasts didn’t hurt, the bleeding was minimal. I pretty much felt like a brand new woman and questioned why I hadn’t done this years ago. The second month came and my period was heavier and more painful than before I ever took the medicine. I also noticed that my anxiety started heightening and I began to feel sad. Third month into this medicine and it was two and a half weeks before my period was supposed to start and my breasts swelled up and they haven’t gone back down since. They are constantly sore and in pain. Then I began to notice the depression and it would increase the week before I started. My third period was strange, I had brown and dark blood coming out and no bright red blood. The fourth and fifth month were pretty much the same, but with more increased anxiety and depression and the irritability was awful. I have never fought or cried so much. I feel psycho because it all gets worse each month. This birth control makes me feel pregnant and that is e x a c t l y what I'm avoiding. It's a strong no from me. The FDA needs to take this generic pill off the market. I Understand it's reasonably priced, but I would rather risk spending more money on better quality birth control.
