No weight gain that I have noticed. No effect on my sex drive. My acne is slightly better now but not completely gone. I have not noticed any serious side effects. I have had no pregnancy scares because I can predict the start time of my period within a few hours. My periods are extremely regular and light. I like that this pill is a lower dose because I feel as though the effects on my body are less severe. I understand that everyone reacts to these pills differently, but I wanted to share my experience so far. On lo loestrin I had spotting for about 2 maybe 3 months when I first started it but I just started taking the junel the Sunday after my period started, have about 3 placebo(brown) pills left in pack. So the first month isn't done yet. Started Spotting brown about a week after taking and it's been on and off since. Some days heavy to where I thought it might be my period some days light to where it's only when I wiped.The spotting slowed down/stopped a couple days before I started the brown pills. Then my period came, so hopefully the spotting won't continue after its gone (fingers crossed) or I'll switch. She switched me to help with migraines and heavy heavy menstrual cycle/pms. So far nothing too horrible as far as I can tell. If that changes I'll let you know. I started the new pack at a horrible time so I haven't been able to fully feel the effects of just Junel. It has definitely helped my mood swings, irritability, feeling crazy, although I have wanted to cry a lot while taking it. It has made me feel more calm. My period started on the 4th morning of the brown pills, and it has been moderately light with little cramping! thats coming from a woman who would go through 4 super tampons in 4 hours and have back cramps like I was in labor! So far, I can't complain! I was suddenly bloating, cramping, and dealing with 7+ day periods. I was also wickedly crabby and had zero sex drive, so my doctor suggested switching to a monophasic pill (Junel) instead of a triphasic pill (orthoTriCyclen). It's only been one month, but already my PMS symptoms are noticeably different. Normally my family makes "jokes" about it being "hell week" or me being short tempered the week before my period, but this cycle went by without a single comment about my mood swings or temper - and I didn't feel irritable, either! My bloating, extreme fatigue, cramps, and mood swings are gone. This was not without a cost though as I was nausous after each pill for the first two weeks, my face (particularly chin and around my mouth) blew up with acne and I still have decreased libido. I'm going to continue to take this pill for a few more months to see if my body adjusts and the acne goes away. All in all, I am satisfied and realize that every pill affects each person differently.
