Also I'm a very thin person and have been all my life, I haven't changed my diet or fitness routine, but have gained a few pounds! I do feel 'not quite myself!' in a strange way ...so I'm going to try to have a 10mg pessary once a week ..Would appreciate any feed back if others have done the same. Its OK my GP saying no it doesn't...I know my body well enough to know that my symptoms are due to this drug! Recent ECG and thorough blood tests have ruled out thyroid, vit b12 defiency etc so no other reason for me feeling so dire. I only hope it gets out of my bloodstream asap and I can get back to feeling normal again. After the initial 2 week induction I started experiencing explosive Diarrhea and abdominal cramps . Saw a gynaecologist and had an ultrasound.....I have a 51mm fibroid ! I had fibroids in peri but after menopause they shrunk and were on thier way out . I have since read the medical side effects of Vagifem and it can cause the fast growth of fibroids .......not what I wanted to experience again ! I am gutted , because my UTI’s have gone and atrophy does seem better . But I cannot continue when it causes fibroid growth . Also seems very odd to me that if this product does not get absorbed into the body , how I could have suddenly developed all these other issues like Diarrhea and increased blood pressure . My doctor has been amazing and said it was V A due to perimenopause. I am taking Vagifem which has ceased nearly all the pain and is also helping with the UTI. This is A wonder drug. Stop leaving negative reviews when some of you tried it for 2 weeks and gave up. It does cause migraine bloating until your body gets used to it. Day after had shortness of breath, bloating and anxiety. Felt a little better 3rd day but did not put my symptoms down to the Vagifem so took my 3rd dose. Following day felt very anxious also depressed at the weight gain of 3kg. Next day decided to reread side effects and was like tic tic tic... I had many but the most serious was the mood and depression ( which I never have experienced) I rang my GP back who was surprised but told me to stop taking nonetheless. The dark mood passed after 3days The shortness of breath/asthma took several days to subside. I would definitely think twice before taking but just make sure you are well aware of the side effects because they can come on strong and fast. Something I have never experienced with any other medication I have taken in the past. The vaginal bleeding is the most worrying side effect, since I had a pap smear and ultrasound shortly before starting this drug and was given the all-clear. I now have to be tested again and am afraid the estradiol may have caused a buildup of the uterine lining or even worse.
