| 1 | Vaginal Atrophy | I would strongly advise anyone considering trying this medication to proceed with extreme caution. I was assured by several physicians/pharmacists that since this drug was applied topically it wouldn't be absorbed and would therefore not cause any symptoms whatsoever. Although it went against my better judgement I finally agreed to give it a try after suffering with recurring UTI's for the past several years. I got up to day 10 and had some significant adverse reactions I've listed as follows: - Extreme/severe anxiety - Severe heart palpitations - Elevation in blood pressure (hypertension) - Left arm weakness and visible muscle twitching between left shoulder and elbow - Blurred vision and sensitivity to light - Bouts of uncontrollable shaking (rigors) - Extremely tight calf muscles. I discontinued the Vagifem after the 10th dose and am currently 10 days past taking the last tablet. Although most of my symptoms have resolved some still linger. I can buy coconut oil on Amazon get a 16oz bottle for like $32 and it works wonderful.
