Although it initially helped with acid reflux, I started having extremely frightening side effects: Tachycardia, strong PVCs, high blood pressure, dizziness, daily diarrhea, stomach ache and cramps after meals, hot flashes, strong nausea, and anxiety. | After an endoscopy/colonoscopy that were normal, I decided to get off Pepcid. I had a strong rebound effect on the third day after i stopped, but it has now been 6 days and my blood pressure is back to normal, palpitations have subsided, and I am almost feeling 100% healthy. My advice for those having strong side effects is get off the medication even if you have a rebound effect, it doesn’t last as long as I anticipated and it is well worth it. I have been on a diet that excludes any GERD offending foods and it has helped. That's when I thought to look it up and found all of this info. I stopped taking it but still don't feel great today.
