I thought maybe because I was younger I was just making things up. Nope! Took it in July for a sever migraine attack. I was vomiting left and right. They administered the dose(I do not recall how many mg) of Reglan and Benadryl and I immediately felt this warm rush across my chest that instantly made me anxious. I felt as if someone was pushing on my chest. I recall crying and jumping on top of the bed telling then nurse to take the medicine out of me. I went to a very well known hospital in Michigan rated the top in the world. But they were not prepared for reaction I had with the medication and honestly me as well. At the end of the night I had my sister, mother and 2 other nurses holding me down. I do not recommend it for people that experience anxiety. I’m a medical assistant but I am not a doctor. Definitely ask your provider if this medicine is for you. But from my experience it’s made my anxiety 1000 times worst even after. The “migraine-mix” did not work for me what’s so ever and neither did Reglan. This drug ruined my life in a matter of 3 weeks while being a first time mom. It’s been 4 months since I’ve stopped it and still experiencing torturous side effects. Akathisia being the worst one. I feel like I’m being constantly electrocuted, my nerves are on fire 24/7, I think about suicide everyday because I truly cannot live with these symptoms. Please don’t take this drug, I came to find out it’s an old school antipsychotic, crosses the blood brain barrier, and a dopamine antagonist. This drug should be banned, and I’m willing to get through this just to do something about this later and to get this drug off the market. Except I wasn't experiencing a migraine. I told the nurse I have reacted badly to Reglan in the past but she still gave it to me. As soon as she started injecting it my heart rate went up to 128, I told her my heart was racing and I didn't feel good and I felt extremely hyper, like I needed to get up and run. My legs were shaking. She stopped for a min and watched my heart rate and said it was high but it was going back down so she continued to administer more medication. I couldn't sit still! I started shaking uncontrollably, my teeth were chattering and clenching, my hands were shaking and flapping all over. I felt like I was having a seizure. She looked at me and asked if I wanted a warm blanket. I said I wasn't cold I just can't stop shaking. She said I just needed to give the medicine time to work and I should feel better. I got 2 other medications, benadryl and lorazepam. I don't remember much after that except waking up. When I woke up I had to pee. I tried to get up but my legs felt so heavy I could barely walk. One of the nurses had to help me to the bathroom because she was worried I would fall. I WISH I HAD REFUSED THAT MEDICATION. It didn't help me at all and just added to my symptoms, making me feel worse. The only thing that helped me was the zofran for the nausea and vomiting. The Reglan and other medications did nothing for my headache or the pain.
