I'm not sure if it was (seasonal) allergies, nerves, or what... But a sticky feeling in my throat and feeling of something catching in my throat.... Also coughed a little and sore throat.

Other than that.... What a blessing.... I already was talking Pepcid for the gastritis and that killed some of the acid and pain, but the carafate killed it off entirely... The doctor wants me to take it 4x's a day (there was signs of minute traces of blood in my stool; doctor believed that it was just aggravated stomach, and not yet quite an ulcer), but between the Pepcid and Maalox and bland diet, I'm wondering if 2xs a day would be sufficient. Considering my anxiety disorder, I can't help but think that a lot of the feeling that I have with the medication isn't mental.

Nausea and slight headache. I'm also taking 49mg Prilosec 1x day.

I don't think this drug is helping and its very hard to take. Empty stomach 2 hours before taking other meds like.my bp pills it's a lot of work

Severe mouthwatering, mild nausea, stomach upset, intestinal cramping, diareah

Tried for 2 days but by day 2 the mouthwatering/ nausea lasted all day then the cramps and diareah began. Dosage schedule very inconvenient for trying to keep food in stomach, no food 2 hr before or 1 hr after made empty stomach stretches too long and worsened by sour stomach with constant watering mouth. I tried! I quit it!

It has helped my stomach pain from gastritis so much. And eliminated my severe gerd that was causing my productive cough. Very greatful.

No side effects either.

Horrible Nausea and a chlorine taste in my mouth. Not helping me at all, but can't stop because of bleeding risk.

Wish there was a different pill to take!

In the beginning some stomach pain until I ate. Some heart palpitations and shortness of breath

But it works and I would take it again if needed. It definitely works and I feel much better. Omeprazola (Prilosec) and pantoprazole (protonix) wasn't working for me any more

Loose, frequent stools in AM.

Have had longstanding GI problems, gastritis, Mastocytosis entericolitis, erosions in stomach, bike reflux. This drug has really helped!

Terrible long lasting headaches after about three weeks.

Will try to spread out dose to mitigate side effect.

The carafate works with burning tissues from reflux, but I take it only for 2 weeks at a time when my reflux causes ulcers and pain..I had a dilatation and now suffer from extreme reflux even though my diet now is mostly vegetables and rice..boiled chicken etc. Carafate works but causes memory loss and confusion for me so I do not take continuously.

Migraines stomach pain nausea

Constapation. Dizzy.

Works as miracle drug for me. Got my life back.

Dizziness, dry mouth

I have severe gastritis and inflammation through out my small and large intestines. With in the first week it calmed down a lot. I am on other medications so I always check interactions and side effects. This drug does cause a lot of interactions with other meds so be careful how and when you take it. I only take on an empty stomach and go exactly by directions for time between medicines. Since I am on blood pressure medicine its very important it doesn't interfere with that. Right now after so much pain and being so ill I went through with C Diff this is my only option to hopefully I will get back to normal again. So I am making sure to follow everything to the letter. Or I could progress to ulcers and surgery. So that makes me so glad to have this and take it.

Absolutely none, not sure what people are talking about other than it tastes pretty awful.

I'm not feeling any better, yet,but I suppose that's to be expected as its only been 3 days.

I started taking carafate 3 days ago. I am really pleased but i have experience some headaches,but my biggest concern is the memory loss is this something i should be concerned about

No side effects since I take Much Less than prescribed. One whole pill made me nauseated.

Instead of taking this 2x daily I take one half a pill at bedtime only. I also drink cabbage juice (google it)and turmeric. This is so expensive it's immoral. Doc said "take for 12 months." ?? I never had any pain but was hospitalized.

Caused burning in my esophagus and choking...fluid in throat and lungs....awful drug
