How I feel is no way to live.

My mouth watered, I did get hot flashes and felt a little nauseated for about an hr or so but not anything that was unbearable.

I have taken many medications for GERD and Esophagus problems for years and in just one day of taking the oral version (because I can't swallow many pills) I feel like I have a new stomach seriously. I can actually eat and I have a appetite! No burning, or acid reflux or gas.. I really hope this continues to work because I need to eat! I am taking protonix also and the combination is magic for me! A day without stomach problems is a good day for me!

Anxiety, pain in stomach, IBS , hot & cold sensations, loss of appetite

It worked in terms of gastritis pain , started eating again & then lost appetite again . I decreased the dosage from four times to once a day because I could not tolerate the constant anxiety this medicine would give me & even then , I’d still get anxiety. Going to try natural ways to better my gastritis . Risks outweigh benefits

So many of you taking it without a proper diagnosis. No wonder you all have side effects!!!

I am sensitive to meds! I felt decent at first taking it but then after a week felt horrible. Stomach swollen and bloated, constant diarrhea, horrible chest pain and shortness of breath. Stomach pain came back full swing!

I was to take a 1gram 4x a day which was very much not possible. At first it was okay like the first day or two. I kinda felt like my throat was closing and anxiety was worst. Figures that was just my normal anxiety. Now reading I guess not. I tried it a week later felt so extremely nauseous,worst headache ever that would not go away not even with Motrin or Tylenol. I also had neck and back pain chest pain. Tried again a week later it was fine so I took it 2 times a day at one point 3 times a day. It was fine for those 3 days then boom pain again. I kept trying thinking if I got use to it maybe the side effects would go away. Here it is 3 months in I take it maybe once or twice a week once a day. Well today I haven't took any and have the worst headache and stomachache again. I've thrown up I feel like straight up crap. I refuse to keep living like this. It's ruining my world. I'm a slowly stop taking it. I don't know that this pill is but doesn't seem safe for all us. If we all have these terrible effects maybe it should be banned.

Just would like to stop taking and hope the side effects go away.

Initially I got dizzy. Also I lost 5 lbs within 2 weeks. It helped my stomach pain. Has reflux somewhat but not a lot. I started getting heart palpitations, Frequent urination,insomnia, anxiety, and upset stomach. I am tapering off becauise I don't like the way I feel.

Headache, brain fog, muscle pain, insomnia.

I am under weight and sensitive to drugs. I can't tolerate PPI and H2 inhibitors at all. Sucralfate helps with Heartburn. I hope I can tolerate it longer. I am only taking 4ml 2x daily.

Terrible dizziness, nausea and complete exhaustion. Also made me feel very worried and upset. I thought it was just me! Thank-you all so very much for sharing so people like me don't think they're alone. This pink pill is horrible.

I'm going back to my doctor and demanding suclrafate (sp?) because it worked wonders!

Constipation , loss of appetite ,anxiety , back pain.

I took sucralfate (Carafate ) for a month and I told my doctor I couldn't not take it anymore .It seemed to work for the first 2 weeks then I started to get the side effects , although the constipation had been coming on. What 's really bothering me is the back pain and I can hardly eat .Do the side effects take long to go away ? Is this a months long recovery? I have not read anything so far that made this drug sound like it had long term side effects.

Prescribed carafate in pill fo for acid reflux since I can't take ppi medications due to a different health issue. First week taking it, I experienced some weakness and dizziness. Also, a couple nights of insomnia. After that first week, symptoms subsided and I only felt the benefits of the medication.

Extreme weight loss, lack of appetite, nausea, lethargy, chills

Had chest pain and back pain. 1st Dr. Diagnosed me with GERD and stress, prescribed carafate pills 3x day b4 meals and see GI spec. It worked at first for about month. Saw GI spec who did endo. He said nothing is wrong but keep taking pills anyway. By the next month I wasn't hungry anymore. Couldn't keep anything down. Chills and nausea and dibilitating weakness. Lost 40 lbs in 4 months. Stopped taking the pills, started feeling better. Able to eat. Only able to put back on 10 lbs so far.

Insomnia, nausea, stomach gurgling

Does anyone get shaking/chills as a side effect? I got home from work to take my second pill at 10 and at 1am i woke up with extreme nausea and I couldn’t stop shaking!! I checked for a fever but there was none. I don’t like this medication already and feel discouraged because I feel like i’ve tried everything.

Side effects are really scary and I don’t like it. Gonna keep taking and see what happens.
