1  Allergies Increased nasal pressure, increased headache, exacerbated nasal symptoms, anxiety, panic attacks, racing heart, migraine Absolutely dreadful experience. I was on it for 7 days when I couldn’t tolerate the side effects anymore. And I’ve had side effects ever since I’ve stopped taking it 6 days ago. I’m curious to know if the side effects ever end? I ended up having to go the hospital as I had meningitis symptoms, had a spinal tap, and it was clear. I even had a CT scan and that was clear. If I could rate this product zero I would. F 42 7 days

1  Allergic rhinitis Anxiety, fear of death, crying, 'bad thoughts' Terrible drug that was prescribed to my 8 year old daughter. Within two weeks of taking it she was different child, scared, thinking something bad was going to happen, unable to feel in control, fearing death. And none of this is on the side effects?!!  1  Clear sinuses The drug worked and cleared my sinuses after two weeks of taking it now around the fourth week I am experiencing shortness of breath and a heavy feeling on my chest like I can’t breath. Also feels similar to what an anxiety attack is supposed to feel like. Although I have have zero history with anxiety. I also struggle to swallow things every once and a while. I have since stopped taking the drug and am feeling better after just two days. F 19 4 days

1  Nasal congestion Extreme anxiety and panic attack. I was at Bob Evans, and the walls started closing in around me. I got home and started crying and had a very strong (and irrational) fear that the popping noise in my ear from my sinus congestion would never go away. I have 0 history of panic attacks so i assumed the likely culprit was Nasonex and wouldn't you know, multiple people reported similar side effects. A side effect i might add that isn't listed. Don't sniff this stuff unless you want to go on a vision quest. No. M 38 2 days

1  Recurrent sinusitis About a week into taking I started noticing heart issues, first I felt a tightness that I slept off, then a few days later heart palpitations and feeling of skipped beats(since been told they're called PACs). I finally started questioning the flonase so quit after 3wks of use but symptoms persisted. Dr did ekg, echo and now am nearing the end of wearing a cardiac event monitor for 2 weeks. Cardiologists did say it could have been flonase and was taking awhile to leave my system and rhythm fall back into normal. Now about 4wks after stopping the palpitations have all about stopped and I haven't felt anymore skipped beats, but the anxiety persists which they're now questioning my thyroid, which surprise surprise flonase can effect as well. Do yourself a favor and just stick with harmless saline spray because in the end its working better than the flonase did All of my life I've regretted very little, but this I wish I could go back in time and never use the flonase, I'd rather the sinus infections :( F 30 21 days

1  Sinus problems I've used nasonex on and off depending on sinus problems over the course of a year or so and it helped every single time. Until now. As spring has started I've found my nose getting more and more blocked every single day, which prompted me 4 hours ago (before bed) to take a few sprays of nasonex. As I was asleep I woke up unbearably dizzy. Yes. Laying down had me dizzy. I sat upright to adjust myself and gather my senses. As I felt better I laid down again and immediately my world was spinning. As I type this, I have to keep my head upright because if it tilts the nausea increases immediately tenfold. I have never experienced this before in my life. Right now this is symptomatic of vertigo and is keeping me up for the last 3 hours. I can be sure this is all due to the nasonex. When I said my nose was getting blocked, it's not even that "bad" I only took it pre emptively. And nothing else lifestyle wise, diet wise, exertion wise has changed. Never taking this again M 30 0 days

1  Sinusitus Immediately symptoms begin for me. Immediate jump in heart rate upon ingestion. Extreme irritability. I never have trouble falling asleep but on this drug I feel upset, about to cry, crazy dreams. So irritable I cannot be around others when taking this. Second time I have been prescribed NASONEX despite telling ENT that I do not tolerate it and discontinued use last time after it destroyed my ability to sleep or work. Was told that decongestants affect your heart, not corticosteroids. I tolerate decongestants OK but not corticosteroids. The drug has never been covered for me and is prohibitively expensive for prolonged use in my economic situation. Some people tolerate it with no side effects. M 22 2 days

1  Nasal polyps Heart paliptations, bleeding in nose, watery eyes affecting vision, headache, physical and mental fatigue, mental disturbances From time to time I try and take Nasonex hoping it will reduce polyp size and so I could avoid surgery. I've never felt any improvement while taking it, but the side effects are the most horrible aspect of this nasal spray. The longest I've taken this spray is for 3 weeks, after which I stopped when I found out my BP had dropped to 80/60! It was clear then that it doesn't work. Still, this year I started Nasonex again, to give it benefit of the doubt. But this time I experienced the most frightening side effect on day 7. Along with faitgue and tiredness in body and headaches, I also had mental disturbances. I'd be remembering something then I'd imagine I had that thought in some dream before, even though it wasn't true! Went to ER as I thought I was losing my mind. That same evening I was reading something then suddenly out of nowhere I remembered some event that had occured in my childhood, even though it had no relation at all to what I was reading. Although I stopped taking the spray that day, the mental fatigue lingered for another 7 days. During this recovery time, whenever I thought of some idea very complex and difficult to achieve, I'd get this sickly mental feeling in the head. These dreadful side effects are enough to keep me from any nasal spray the rest of my life. I guess I'd have surgery after all. M 31 7 days

1  Allergies It did help with allergies but my vision was getting worse - I wear contacts. Then started getting dizzy quite often. My eye Dr recommended testing for high blood pressure or diabetes. Both tests came back fine. Then checked into nasonex and found it could cause dizziness and swelling in eyes. Been off for 4 days - no more dizziness hope vision improved in time F 58 6 months

1  allergies For almost two years I have taken nasonex to control allergies, however, the side effects of it, mostly occurring upon waking, and lasting about 5-6 hours, are unbearable: chronic, tension headaches, extreme fatigue, and some dizziness. I never could relate the side effects to the nasal spray until I had exhausted every other possibility including diet, hydration, other medications, vitamins and herb supplements. Through a long process of elimination, and reading other posts online, I finally determined it was the Nasonex of Mometasone Fuorate spray. You are not alone! Horrible headaches and lasting fatigue are not worth it!! M 31 2 years
