1  Suspected post nasal drip Took this for three weeks, experienced tight chest, painful chest and stomach. Dreadful anxiety attack last night felt really odd, never had anything like this before. Also very high blood pressure whilst feeling like this. It lasted around an hour luckily the blood pressure did come down, very nearly ended up in A&E I was terrified! Needless to say I've not taken it today nor will I again! Blood pressure still a little high but nothing like it was. Chest pain, and abdo pain gone. Can't believe a nasal spray could cause this. So glad I'm not the only one I think in future I'll avoid any steroid nasal spray, it didn't help and I didn't have a blocked nose in the first place. Take care when using F 56 3 weeks

1  Swollen nasal passages Agitated, DIZZY, short of breath, heart palpitations...and slowing down, agression, hoarse voice and irritated throat, lump in throat feeling, anxiety through the roof, insomnia, acid reflux, chest tightness, very restless like I was running on adrenaline. Panic attacks...bad ones. I could go on... Yup, even supposedly "benign" nasal steroids can cause serious issues. Regardless of what your dismissive doctor will say. At least that's been my experience with several, I get told because the nasal administration makes the drug localized that it doesnt effect your system as a whole very much at all. ALL STEROIDS can cause problems, they effect your stress hormones. Effects of Prednisone and anabolic steroids are taken seriously so why not nasal corticosteroids? Took Nasonex closer to two months, not one. Anyways, also had bad reaction from Flonase months before the Nasonex but at the time didnt realize the issues I was having were due to the steroids. Took me sometime to finally do research and confirm it was in fact these two nasal sprays causing me to go literally crazy. Also had brief encounter with Prednisone and decongestant sprays that caused issues too. It's been about 6 months since any steroids and sprays and I'm still struggling with some damage, mostly dizzy spells and severe anxiety/panic attacks. Took some time to get past the irritated throat that made it hard to swallow and acid reflux/chest pain. Not your run of the mill anxiety either....seriously debilitating panic. I feel like I messed up my adrenals with these drugs. PLEASE feel free to reach out to me if you had these problems too! F 30 1 months

1  Allergies Really bad anxiety, overthinking and feeling depressed. Read reviews before taking nasonax and on the first day did 1 spray each nose, didn't get any after effects, I thought great so second day did 2 sprays each nose as recommended and went through the worst bout of anxiety I've ever experienced. It lasted for 5-6 hours. Throwing this garbage in the bin, would rather deal with allergies M 24 2 days

1  Sinus infection / fluid in ears Headaches Dizziness Blurred vision Fast heart rate Anxiety Vomiting Diarrhea Stomach pains Visual disturbances / auras I was prescribed mometasone furoate a few weeks ago which I started taking straight away. 2 sprays up my nose every day. Around day 4/5 I started suffering with blurred vision and slight dizziness. I also suffered with nausea and my usually mild anxiety worsened greatly. I visited A & E and had a sitting pulse of 136bpm this prompted the hospital to do an ECG which came back ok and to take my bloods which also came back OK. I also had 2 visual disturbances of flashing lights whilst on this nasal spray , and a weird sense in my vision field of lights staying longer in my vision after looking away from them. Ive not felt myself and felt disconnected as such , with slow reactions and little interest in anything at all , almost in a depressed state. I stopped taking this medication abruptly around 4 days ago as my sinus issues had gone, and because I was not advised otherwise and didn't realise as a steroid you're supposed to gradually come off them. Its not around day 5/6 of stopping them and my symptoms are easing thankfully. AVOID! F 29 5 days

1  Chronic blocked nose I was prescribed nasonex to help battle chronic blocked nose, recommended by my ENT. It helped minimally but did not completely clear my symptoms. Then last night I experienced extreme palpitations and chest pain along with anxiety. I felt like I was going to die and was awake all night. Called my GP first thing this morning and he said to stop taking nasonex immediately. I wouldn't recommend due to the severity of the side effects! F 32 14 days

1  Seasonal Allergies I took it for 4 days, which did clear my nose up each day I took it. So I tried a day without it, nose was fine. Second day, nose was fine. I thought, great. Then whammo EXTREME panic attacks, anxiety out the ying yang. Heart palpitations, inability to handle ANY sort of stress. I've been trying to figure out what caused my sudden panic situation. I looked back in my appointment dates, that's when I got Nasonex. Worst medication ever M 40 4 days

1  post- flu sinus first few days I had a dry nose and felt sick on and off, but today has been the worst of my life. eye pressure behind left eye that began to spread across my head and to my other eye, became absolutely unbearable like someone was stabbing me in both eyes continuously. I have never experienced such pain and I just didn’t know what to do, I was in such a panic., It had got the tiniest bit less painful but still extreme about an hour on. I will NEVER ever ever use this again as I am certain it’s what’s caused this agony that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I genuinely felt like I had a brain tumour and was seconds away from death. And there I was thinking my flu pain was bad. DO NOT RECOMMEND F 27 4 days

I stoped taking it a week ago but I still extremely bad side effects. I have really bad heart palpitations, I’ve had dizzy bouts, sore eyes, a feeling in my chest like I can’t breath and anxiety.  1  Non-allergic rhinitis Anxiety, low mood and weight gain Avoid Nasonex - find an alternative! I genuinely thought I was going mad experiencing all the side effects - especially the weight gain as I have always been slim and really struggled to figure out why I had gained weight as my diet/exercise regime had not changed. I then read comments about other people experiencing the same thing along with anxiety and low mood and it all made sense. Genuinely wish I had never used this stuff. It should not be prescribed so freely. F 27 3 months
