Gums around my teeth are starting to bleed when I brush my teeth. | If it works for you, great. I have painful pimple like lumps in my ear and inflammation. Paralysis of the face. It's been awful feeling so sick like this. I was strong and healthy and the only drug I started taking was naxonex before I got this sick. I hate drugs. I just hate them! You take meds to help a condition and they all pose risks of really messing your health up somewhere else. Dr. gave me a refillable prescription. | Went for a physical last month and blood pressure was in the danger zone 155/80. At first I didn't link it to Nasonex and just thought I might have to be on BP meds if this continues. Last week I started to look at nasonex side effects and found this site. I stopped using nasonex last wed and my BP are slowly getting better. Looked up nasonex's website and there's no mention of elevated BP as a side-effect. But if you look up side-effects of glucocorticoid steroids: irregular heartbeat and elevated bp is one of the major ones. If you are reading these ratings for Nasonex, then there is a chance that you are like me and have Vasomotor or Mixed Rhinitis like me. At least, I could speak from experiance that this drug did not help my condition at all. I recieved more relief from the sinus headaches from an over the counter nasal spray called Sinus Buster, then I did from this drug. I never could relate the side effects to the nasal spray until I had exhausted every other possibility including diet, hydration, other medications, vitamins and herb supplements. Through a long process of elimination, and reading other posts online, I finally determined it was the Nasonex of Mometasone Fuorate spray. You are not alone! I've never felt any improvement while taking it, but the side effects are the most horrible aspect of this nasal spray. The longest I've taken this spray is for 3 weeks, after which I stopped when I found out my BP had dropped to 80/60! It was clear then that it doesn't work. Still, this year I started Nasonex again, to give it benefit of the doubt. But this time I experienced the most frightening side effect on day 7. Along with faitgue and tiredness in body and headaches, I also had mental disturbances. I'd be remembering something then I'd imagine I had that thought in some dream before, even though it wasn't true! Went to ER as I thought I was losing my mind. That same evening I was reading something then suddenly out of nowhere I remembered some event that had occured in my childhood, even though it had no relation at all to what I was reading. Although I stopped taking the spray that day, the mental fatigue lingered for another 7 days. During this recovery time, whenever I thought of some idea very complex and difficult to achieve, I'd get this sickly mental feeling in the head. These dreadful side effects are enough to keep me from any nasal spray the rest of my life. I was coughing from postnasal drip, I had severe nasal congestion and chronic rhinitis and was totally miserable Indoors and outside. I have tried other nasal sprays, but they didnt work. I even tried oral antihistamines like Allegra and Clarinex, but it didnt work for me. I finally decided to give Nasonex a try and within 2 days I was actually able to breathe through my nose again, and I sneezed a lot less. Within a week after use I still sneeze {Occasionally } and I no longer have runny nose and congestion. My cough is gone since I no longer have postnasal drip.
