I did gain a bit of weight but it’s not crazy and also seems to have leveled by now... I’m taking Trazodone at night to help with sleeping. No medication has worked as well as Effexor for my depression, not even weekly ketamine treatments. About 1-2 months after starting it I started feeling much better, eventually the best I had felt in years. It still works well for me after 10 months and Ive never had unbearable side effects other than if I miss a dose. My weight hasnt changed much, if anything Ive lost a little bit of weight after starting it. The only side effects I have experienced is weight gain and cravings for sweets. I am an RN, and a little advice for anyone weaning off Effexor is after getting down to 37.5mg, break open the capsules and divide 37.5mg in half, and take dosage for 4-7 days. Then take half of the half of 37.5mg, so on and so forth, until you are taking only a few little white balls inside the capsules per day.
