It appears to not be gone away completely because I didn't finish the remaining 2 days. I took a yeast pill after to prevent yeast infection. Not sure if I should start treatment over or just wait a few more days for relief. Waiting results to see if I now have thrush aswell. Will not use this medicine again. There must be a better way to deal with this. I heard nothing but great things about probiotics for women health. So far the only discharge I saw was slimy mucus like stuff when I wiped after earlier this afternoon. After completing the 6 days I noticed the same clumpy, gross ass, toilet-paper-like discharge like everyone here. I had a checkup with my gynecologist and she looked at it and told me it's a yeast infection. BUT after reading all your comments I think she is wrong!!! I'm very angry that she doesn't know this common side effect and wanted to give me a very strong yeast infection medication (with side effects like "going deaf" - thanks). I didn't take the medication and the discharge went way on its own after 5 or 6 days. No idea why such a discharge occurs - uterus lining shedding? Bad bacteria that's being flushed out? Overall dryness? Mild yeast infection?I don't know. IMPORTANT: Antibiotics destroy not only the bad bacteria but also the good ones. So after the treatment with Metrogel I would recommend you do a treatment with lactic acid suppositories for about 6 days. If a BV is a recurring event for you I would a | Take probiotics, treat with lactic acid suppositories after metrogel to build up the vagina's natural flora again!
