I miss my nightly glass of wine, however, and am at the 48 hour mark tonight since my last dose. I started it the first day of my period so I don't know if it's working. When on Nuva Ring though I would have the large yeast clumps after treatment with gel. But anything is better than the pills...yuck | I found that if I use a dose before sex like a lubricant, or the day or two before my period, it wards off the BV infection, which is great cause it stretches the dosing gotten from one tube, unfortunately most docs won't prescribe as a cautionary or "profolactic" drug. I figured out those steps from other things I read on the internet. No dr. suggested it but boric acid helps keep ph low and peroxide kills yeast and is made naturally in the vagina. I wasn't able to follow the dr. suggestion of two five day treatments with a 3 day break. I did 3, got my period, got the infection symptoms back, then I did 4 days of metro gel. Last dose was 3 days ago-no infections symptoms. A word of advice take yeast infection meds the first day you start this medication to avoid any yeast or discharge problem. I took Diflu, it's a one time pill and last for seven days in the body.
