| 1 | pain | I went out and bought a bottle of Aleve gel caps because I took a tablet the other week and was fine. I guess it's the gel caps I have issues with. about two hours after I took it I started itching like crazy, mostly on my hands feet and underarms. It was INSANE. The itching started right after I took a shower but I didn't use anything different. The only conclusion I could come to was the Aleve gel caps. Sure the pain is gone, but I'll take that over this itching. It's too close to bedtime and I don't want to be up half the night scratcing. I have a whole bottle of this stuff that I can't take. I took a nap and when I woke up, my lip, forehead and various spots of my arm, neck and chest were covered in bright red itchy spots. When I went to the emergency room, they gave me Benadryl and a prescription for prednisone (steroid). I'm in day 6 and my bright spots turned to bruise-like marks. I woke last night thirsty and with a slight headache - decided to take one Aleve tablet to get rid of the headache before morning. Next thing I know, my husband is yelling and shaking me. He said he thought I was having a seizure -- eyes rolled up and gasping for breath. Out of nowhere, I vomited four times, and then began to feel better. I guess I got the Aleve out of my system! | I will NEVER take Aleve again. Too bad too as it seemed to work well for the pain but I was ready to go see the oncologist (am a cancer survivor) due to the side effects. If I hadn't realized it was from Aleve, I would have spent a LOT of money going to doctors to figure out what it was and who knows how long it would have taken the Doctors to figure it out.
