I took probiotics to help protect my gastrointestinal tract while on this. I think doctors prescribe antibiotics before even knowing whether you have a bacterial infection or a virus, which if virus an anitibiotic is a waste and won't help. I believe my flu was virus. I don't want to ever take this if I don't have too. But if you do have to take an antibiotic then also include daily a very good probiotic so you don't get the side effects that effect the colon, like diarrhea or CDiff. Thank goodness my wife was around to take care of me for the 1st 5 days because I literally couldn't get out of bed for food or water, it was that bad.
