| 5 | Knee is bone on bone. | This medicine has worked great for me for 20 years. I just found out that I have Kidney Failure, Stage 3. I quit taking it this week. I am not working because of a fall from a ladder that tire my rotator cuff and gave me a horrible concussion because of the distance I fell and landed on my head on a concrete floor, shoulder slammed in to a heavy steel parts cart. | I do not want to stop using it but I cannot live without my kidneys functioning properly. | F | 61 | 2 days | 2/26/2017 | 4 | Neck to to pain deg. disc fibromyal | stomach ache | Probably shouldn't rate this having only been on 3 days, but when you have chronic severe pain and something comes along to make one more functional it must me said. 3 days on and the 3rd day I am able to get out of bed within 5 min. of waking by myself. It hasn't taken all my spinal/hip pain away, but the stiffness is not there when I arise...I can move and take care of my morning needs better than I have in 7 yrs. I also have copd and so far this has not further depressed my breathing, I actually feel less congested in the lungs and sinuses than usual. I hope this sucess continues for me as I was completely out of hope of ever having functioning return from a decrease in pain and stiffness. Have used most all other pain management techiniques and am running out of options. I was scared to take it due to having been on Vioxx unsuccessfully in the past. I am glad I took the chance and just want to leave this here for others who may need hope for pain relief. So many REAL pain patients have suffered tremendously having had the best, excellent working opiates needlessly taken from them this past year due to others misusing or mis-prescribing and over-reaching government guidelines for pain meds. While I am happy to report less stiffness with my new Celebrex, nothing has worked better than opiates (never was addicted or craving it) for pain for me. Just got tired of jumping through physician, insurance and pharmacy hoops to get what made me well. In fact, I had all of the symptoms of a heart attack. I choose to go to the emergency room. My heart passed with flying colors but the symptoms haven't gone away. Right now, I suffer from gurd, accompanied by pain in upper left, middle and left sections of the abdomen. I have never suffered gastrointestinal problems in my life! At this point, I can't even eat a couple of tablespoons of tuna without experiencing heart burn and worse. I will be going to a regular doct | I would not recommend Celebrex to anyone for anything, not because it doesn't work to alleviate the pain associated with arthritis or joint pain but because the side effects are devastating. It simply isn't worth it. If I can stop one person from taking this and ruining their gastrointestinal tract, believe me this is painful and could very well be chronic and life threatening, I will have done my job. I'm only reviewing to warn people that if you have a life threatening sulfa allergy like I do, do not take this medicine. | My doctor prescribed this to me well aware of my sulfa allergy. My allergy is so severe and I'm so sensitive to sulfa that I cannot ingest anything with sulfates in it either. While the sulfate reaction isn't life threatening, it has sent me to the ER before with severe heart palpitations and feeling as though I was having a heart attack. I went to fill the prescription & my pharmacy alerted me Celebrex contains sulfa. I called my doctor's office and ask why they would prescribe me a medication with sulfa & they shrugged it off stating it's just a trace amount. A trace amount is all it would take to close my throat.
