However going off of the paxil CR is a different story. | The Paxil CR 25 did help me get through my depression,but I remained on the drug longer than I should have. Had I known that I would become addicted to the medication I would not have taken it in the first place. As you all know the Paxil has been banned, and I was switched to paroxetine the generic version. I broke out in a rash, and had to stop taking the medication. So I quit cold turkey. It has now been a week since I have taken the Paxil/Paroxetine, and I am experiencing severe withdrawls. I am throwing up, dizzy, sensitive to sounds, agitated, loss of apetite, night tremors, weird dreams, panic attacks, boats of crying episodes, and weird eye movements. Anyone that has experienced this and has successfully gotten off the drug I would like to hear from you. I need support. I did end up in the ER, but all they wanted to do was put me on Luvox. I do not want to take another medication so I can get addicted, and go through these horrible withdrawls. The doctors all wanted to fix me short term and would not admit me to watch me get off of the Paxil. I am looking at the long term. That is sad, that the ER would not help me. I was told that I was relapsing, and I dont believe that was the case. It is the withdrawls. I know that I dont need the medication, and want to get off of it to be drug free. There are better ways than getting addicted to medication. If I had known 3 years ago what I know now, I would not have gotten on the medication. Please do research, and think twice before starting the medication. I have been on it now for 3 years and have tried to get off of it twice. Each time I try to quit I experience unbearable side effects.
