XENICAL  (ORLISTAT):  This medication is used with a doctor-approved exercise, behavior change, and reduced-calorie diet program to help you lose weight. It is used by certain overweight people, such as those who are obese or have weight-related medical problems. Taking orlistat can also help keep you from gaining back weight you have lost. Losing weight and keeping it off can lessen the many health risks that come with obesity, including heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and a shorter life. Dietary fats need to be broken down into smaller pieces before the body can absorb them. Orlistat works by blocking the enzyme that breaks down fats in your diet. This undigested fat then passes out of your body in your bowel movement. I have lost 57lbs in 9 months, and will continue to take this pill, I have found that I have changed the way I look at food while taking this pill, I always think of it in the form of ohh low fat I can eat that, knowing I'm not going to have any surprises when I go to the loo. I have lost of 23 inches and have went down in body fat by 10%. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!! F 34 9 days

 2  obese Very unreliable bowels - tried Xenical for 4 weeks, and no improvement in symptoms was noted. Oily discharge, bright orange - too scared to pass wind....soiled underpants and clothing. WOrse if any fatty foods eaten. I did not lose any weight over the period I took Xenical....would see a loss then a gain, but overall nil effect. My regular diet is fairly low-fat, so maybe that explains whi it was ineffective. I feel the drug is too expensive. F 50 1 months

 3  weight loss oil literally leaking from you know where after a fatty meal, what a mess! Some bloating and gassy tendency. Stains underwear ,wear dark color clothing. Did not loose a lot of weight. One good thing , it does not mess with your brain like most other weightloss products. F 59 2 months

The annoying side effects actually provided incentive to remain on a healthy,low fat diet; the price paid the next day for cheating with a few slices of pizza, for example, just are not worth it, and any binge or visit to a Las Vegas buffet exacts a heavy price and possible clothing loss. After awhile, my eating habits and preferences changed thanks to the psychology provided by the gross-out factor, and I have not gained the weight back. That I believe is the M 45 1 years

 5  weight loss i have had very few side effects. some gas, but not often i have been very fortunate with it i have lost 140 lbs takin it and would love to continue taking it F 47 3 years

 4  to lose weight after pregnancy more regular bowel movement-especially in the morning.sometimes i could go up to three times!Oily stool particularly after comsuming fatty foods the day before eg.KFC.When urge comes to pass wind -oil may be passed first if ive eaten something high in fat the day before, but my bowels are usually emptied in the morning and excess fat and go on normally on with my day. i started Xenical while overseas on holiday and did not watch my diet at all!!!and when i came back i was told i lost weight!!!!!!it was more inches....i was very happy with that.I reccomend XENICAL although its abit pricey and have no other side effects whatsoever.Mind you i did not excercise either!abit of excercise and reduced calorie intake would help heaps.SECERET-i tend to have dessert because i know ive taken xenical and it wont hurt me as much!!AND IT STILL WORKS!!!  2  It was prescribed loose bowel and smelly stools No weight loss achieved, also bear in mind may effect synthesis of vitamins and minerals in the gut.Basically I am overweight for complex metabolic reasons,there is very little fat in my diet,hence drug did not work. F 40 2 months

 5  weight loss Overeating of fatty foods produce mild cramps and diarrhea, which is what the Dr. warned me about. After taking it, I am losing weight steadily at 1.5 to 2 lbs per week. I am not exercising or walking, but have substantially lowered my caloric and fat intake. I find it to be very useful for weight loss, and if I exercised I think my loss would be greater. I have lost nearly 60 lbs in approx 7 months. F 60 7 weeks

 5  Weight Loss After eating the stuff you AREN'T supposed to, I had severe stomach cramps. A very good motivator in itself. Still on the drug. Have lost 15 pounds but more inches. After two days I felt less bloated. F 29 4 weeks
