4  Sudden onset severe constipation I have NEVER experienced any real constipation. Most my life it has been drastically the opposite. I'm not sure what happened. Maybe all the new antidepressants. Prescription weight loss medications. Vitamin D deficiency treatment. What ever. But I would have maybe one small ball bowl movement a month if I was lucky. Doctor gave me this. No warning. Said take daily. 1st dose I took at night, on the toilet all night solid to water movements. Waited a week with no movement and took it again on a Saturday morning, same deal. Week later same deal and so on. Its definitely a stay at home near the potty med for me. But its worth it. It lasts a few hours. Nothing major cramping like laxatives. No nausea. But I still cant imagine that the size of solid poop I do pass is all that I have in my bowls from the entire week. I'm going to continue taking it on a weekly basis when I can. It's better than the alternative. F 37 30 days

1  Life long constipation Within an hour I had the worst explosive diarrhea. I was not able to leave the bathroom for more than 5mins. I was home with all 3 of my children that are 7 and under. I was dizzy, in pain, couldn't even drink water. I then got sick to my stomach. After several hours I was finally able to leave the bathroom for longer time spans. My mom had to come help with kids. I have had life long constipation and recent rectal prolapse repair surgery. The surgeon prescribed this as nothing has worked for me in the past. I would go 3weeks or more with no bowel movements. I took it 2times and got very uncomfortable from bloating, but was on the toilet every hour having normal bowel movements. I stopped after hear first two days because of how uncomfortable I was. After a few months and talking to the doctor I decided to give it one more shot. The day I took it I had not been able to go in over a week , but that day I really felt like I needed to go, but was unable to. The pain was unbearable, so I said I'll try it again today and see. Nope never again F 39 1 days

3  IBS with severe constipation Daily diarrhea and "leaky" Ěgas. I was hoping this would finally be the medication that would help. Difficult to leave the house sometimes and not always conducive with a job that doesn't allow urgent breaks. F 48 4 weeks

5  IBS-C I have been taking Linzess for 9 months. As far as I am concerned, it is a miracle medication. I have been dealing with IBS-C for 18 years. I used to take Zelnorm until it was discontinued, but that only treated the horrible belly pain. To regulate my bowels I would take daily probiotics, intermittent laxatives, daily fiber supplements, a morning spinach/fruit smoothie, one meal with beans, and I would still only have 2-3 bowel movements a week. Since day one of starting Linzess, I have daily bowel movements and I have stopped taking the extra supplements and can eat well balanced meals instead of overdoing the fiber. It has changed my life.  4  ibs-c explosive diarrhea, gas, unusually bad odor explosive diarrhea if you eat certain foods within an hour of taking it. does a fantastic job of flushing bowels. my only complaint is that I cannot take it every day (because of the explosion) I only take when I am positive that I will be home. some days the results require complete bleaching and clean up, plus a shower for me.  3  Constipation due to medications I developed constipation from taking one of the new migraine crgp meds. I took Linzess at 10:33 am, and got very sleepy at 6 pm. I had an evening telephone meeting, so I took a 40 minute nap. When I woke up, my headache had got worse. I took my regular rescue meds, plus Cambia (nsaid) and Sudafed. After my phone meeting, I went back to sleep for 11 hours. My blood pressure had increased. I have high BP, so nsaids and decongestants are not good for me because they increase BP. M 64 1 days

4  For Chronic Constipation From time to time, I experience intense abdominal pain and maybe even intestinal pain. It can get so bad I have to let it pass due to the level of pain I feel coming from my intestine. During the very few intense episodes, I have pretty bad abdominal pain, intestinal cramping, bubble cut, sweating and maybe even cold sweats if the pain gets bad enough, shakes and just all around out of it.
