It helps me sleep and it works better than other muscle relaxers I have been prescribed. I try not to take it every night because it is a stronger medication and will lose it’s effectiveness if used too often. I also know that it’s good to be careful with these kind of meds even if you are in a lot of pain- it’s important to take the least amount possible. I have gotten great relief with this and have been able to sleep without being woken up by muscle cramps and pain. I have also been able to take care less of my other medication for nerve pain at night. | Flexeril makes me very sleepy. Very few medications actually make me sleep, so I’d be careful taking this during the day. I am having a difficult time w/ my nerve pain. I recently stopped using Fentanyl after 10 years because it wasn’t working very well anymore. I use Gabapentin and have steroid injections. I have tried Lyrica,Topamax, CBD oil...you name it...does anyone have a recommendation for something that has given them relief from nerve pain? I would so appreciate any ideas- 20+ years now - from 2 bad accidents. Although the flexoril made my face numb and lips tingle and had to stop taking it... the maloxicam works for the spasms but not the pain... also haven't got the results back for the brain mri yet. After about two weeks, I started up hear voices and thought at the time that my neighbors from upstairs were talking about me. I didn't not realize at the time it was linked to flexeril.... I honestly thought my neighbors were really having conversations about me! It was that real to me! I did not stop taking them and it had been over 3 weeks. I could now hear voices outside. Starbucks, the gym, in my car and I still thought that it was just me going crazy. As the month ended my boyfriend simply could not handle me anymore and took me to the emergency room. The gave me haldol and I fell asleep for about half a day. When I awake all the sounds disappeared. I wanted to go home but the insisted on holding me for three days then they released me to an outside mental facility where the kept me for five days! I was horrified by this whole experience. Since I've been home all symptoms have gone away. Please. Do not take flexeril. Do not even consider it for pain. It has terrible side effects and will alter your mind. Had I just googled cyclibenzaprene/ flexeril side affects, I would have never taken it. Wasted the whole day just trying to feel human again. Not even gonna mention the nightmares.
