1  Severe Insomnia Fatigue, frequent memory lapses, irritability, mood swings, depression. After taking this drug at a dosage of 30 MG for four months to treat severe insomnia that I believe brought on a horrific case of Restless Leg Syndrome [RLS](that sometimes affected my entire body) [one doctor gave a sarcastic laugh as a response to my belief that insomnia causes RLS, but neurologist said RLS is "deep-brain" problem], I have apparently developed a tolerance; I no longer sleep 7-8 hours as I did initially and for two and a half months, and at month 3 was only obtaining 1-3 hours of sleep. Now at month 4, I believe that this drug is working at a very minimal level at best as for relief from insomnia, and is providing no relief whatsoever from RLS; I have subsequently been prescribed Lyrica at month 3 to treat the RLS, and also insomnia with a hope of relieving my Tardive Dyskinesia (TD), with 50 MG initially increasing to 100 MG on day two, and presently taking 150 MG to specifically target TD. Presently at month 4, I am only obtaining 1-4 hours of sleep; the RLS is not affecting my ability to sleep, nor the TD, so I can only attribute this phenomenon to the following: Restoril tolerance, Lyrica tolerance for insomnia (although Lyrica is not indicated for insomnia), dosage timing, lack of physical activity, or possibly a food interaction. I took Xanax for 6 weeks, and withdrawal was horrific; I am an IDIOT for taking ANOTHER benzo for even longer. And, what if I don't get my dose for some reason? I AM SCARED. F 49 4 months

1  Severe Insomnia None; have not resumed taking this drug due to both its severely addictive properties and the complete lack of its being able to resolve my insomnia. I was prescribed 30 MG, and after only two weeks, the drug entirely lost its effectiveness--which is very common for all benzos. Stay away from this drug! I would recommend in the strongest terms that anyone considering or being prescribed Restoril will decide not to take it or any other benzodiazepine, as it will cease to work in the long-term, you will have to take more of it, and then you will have to go through withdrawal from it, which is horrific.
