| 1 | To prevent infection | Nausea, dizziness, c.diff. | I was prescribed Clindamycin after dental implant to prevent possible infection. After experiencing dizziness, I stopped taking it.Two days later I started having diarrhea.I was also losing weight, which was bad since I am thin. After two weeks, I went to see my doctor, who immediately suspected c. diff. because of this drug, which was confirmed by labs. I was sick for 3 weeks. It did much more harm than good to me. I am usually a very happy chill person but now everything scares the hell out of me. I've never thought of suicide before until now because I've been on 3 different antibiotics for 30 days and the mental symptoms haven't gone away. I thought it was just the infection but I had the teeth pulled and abscess drained. Stopped the antibiotics today because I should be seeing improvements since my jaw doesn't hurt anymore but the mental effects are all still there. The dentist told me to stop taking them for two or three days, then resume. I did this and the diarrhea didn't happen again. I experienced tightness in my throat immediately after taking the capsule. The pain in my tooth subsided then stopped. I've noticed that since taking this drug, that my defecation has become more normal. It used to be on a weekly or longer cycle, with large bowel motion. It is now on a two day cycle with smaller bowel motions. Be sure to sit upright after taking this pill for one hour. Take it with a tall glass of water. Take a probiotic 2 hours after (Florastor is good) your dose. Continue the probiotic for one month after you finish. I also took lypospheric vitamin C as well. Been on this antibiotic 4 times now and never had any issues. They gave me 1 pill and a script, 15 minutes after taking it my jaw felt better! But my stomach was in pain, it was pretty bad.
