Aside from the fever,wrist pain, I have been clearing my throat and had a dry cough for 9 months since I have had this infusion. I mean constantly,every few seconds.Have been to ENT and had 3 proceedures since then . I go in for Endoscopy next week. No Drs have an answer. My life is now miserable . I can't be with other people because of the constant throat clearing. Within first week he had severe bone pain to the point where he needed wheelchair assistance to get in to a doctor appt, whereas he could previously walk downtown. Within a month he had chills/hot, muscle weakness, difficulty standing and walking which got progressively worse and difficulty even walking within the home. Then blood pressure and heart rate issues began about 1-1/2 months after the infusion. After month 2 began to go to various doctors and hospital and despite high heart rate issues, the hospital noticing the myopathy in legs, and lung showing ground glass appearance, he was discharged and then went to more doctors and urgent care before finally being admitted to the hospital on 9/27. It was so bad my aches and feaver I could not hardly move as a volunteer chef I couldn't make it in to feed the disenfranchised. First time I've called out sick in over 21 years. RECLAST (ZOLEDRONIC ACID): This medication is used to treat a certain type of bone disease (Paget's disease) that causes abnormal and weak bones. Zoledronic acid is also used to treat bone loss (osteoporosis) in men and in women after menopause. It may also be used to treat or prevent osteoporosis in people who are taking corticosteroid medications (such as prednisone) for long periods. It works by slowing the breakdown of bone and keeping bones strong. It also helps to reduce the risk of broken bones (fractures). This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as bisphosphonates.
