It always takes 2 three times per day. Kadian seems to work better than generics. I am getting it from the company program very expensive. It has given me back the ability to be with my horses and that is all I care about anymore. I barely make it and fear I will need an increase. I am back to waking all night locked up in pain. I cannot get it where I live and am now without transportation. My SSDI is over $560.00 per mo and I do not qualify for county transportation. If only I had not gone to college. Doctors need more education. I am in an illegal drug saturated area which makes it more difficult. I must see the doctor monthly or no Rx. What gives? I made $90,000 per year and now may not survive because of it. New doc, so new ideas i guess- & quite costly so why fix what was already working for me? my verdict still out on this med and not sure if my side effects are actually from the cymbalta i'm also on or this kadian or both put together but currently i am feeling worthless and going backwards in my pain management/quality of life. | when it finally kicked in for pain relief, it did work well, so if can get pain back under control (still in trial version at present), it may be ok - i am still concerned taking morphine, and since i can't work right now concerned with cost, but i do like the idea of 1 pill per day as opposed to 6-8, so long as i get no breakthrough pain. The constipation is resolved only by going off the Avinza for 3 days and using products like Correctol in serious quantities. I am desperately trying to find a replacement drug. The difference in pain relief from Oxycontin to Avinza is minimal. Expecially when you include the additional pain caused by constipation on the Avinza. Constipation, every morning drink a liver cleansing potion of warm water, lemon juice with fresh squeezed ginger root, small splash of cayenne pepper sweeten with agauve nectar. And drink a few ounces of Aloe Vera juice every day. Really helps maintain a nicely formed stool daily nothing like that messy Miralax. If I take more than 20mgs Kadian three times a day I get uncomfortably sweaty with the least amount of exertion. | Kadian works for a certain extent but get breakthough pain in my lower back and feet with no other meds for it, Doc just wants me to take more Kadian! Medicare won't pay for Skelaxin which works wonders. Sometimes get weepy & morose if I sleep 2 hours past dose time which can happen at times because of the lethargy. I have tried to detox myself off but it is hard and I don't recommend it to anyone. In the end there is no perfect drug although I am going back to the Pain Clinic to see what else might help. All of our bodies react differently to pharmaceutical chemicals and I wish our Doctors would be more aware of it.
