I thought I was coming down with the flu. The next day, the symptoms continued. I slept practically all day and could not move my body. I felt as if I was paralyzed! At night I noticed a rash on my my legs, with welts further down on my shins and ankles. The pharmacist told me an allergic reaction should have started earlier, but the nurse at the gyn said sometimes it takes time for the medicine to build up and actually cause an allergic reaction. I have never been allergic to anything, but I guess I am now allergic to Macrobid. I had urine checked which showed no bacteria on 3rd day because I went back into Dr concerned that I was feeling so bad.still he refused to change antibiotic so I just stopped taking it my muscles ache and are so weak . I am,a active strong person but not now due to this medication . It is horrible and will never take it again! Now very concerned how long before I can function like my normal self again .
