The itching is killing me. when I came back to my doctor to tell her this, she said it's not because of the f.. medication. I decided to try it anyway and see if it would work for me. The first few doses were fine, I just got progressively more tired and bloated. As I continued to take it, I developed bright yellow urine and headaches. After the 6th dose, I started having a burning sensation in the soles of my feet, as well as numbing. This is what worried me as the side effects listed in the pamphlet that came with the drug mentioned nerve damage. It went from the tip of my index finger and went all the way up my arm up into my neck to the side of my face. Needless to say I was so freaked out and went to urgent care that same morning and got off of it right away. I will never ever take this Medicine ever again. Once treatment ended, it took me a week or two to return to feeling normal again. About a week and a half ago, got another UTI and was prescribed this drug again. Same burning, uncomfortable feeling. But this time, on the last day of my treatment, I took last dose in AM. Later that evening, broke out all over my body into horribly itchy hives, painful swelling/angioedema all over my body especially my joint areas, eye were super swollen and itchy. It hurt to keep my eyes open. I hurt all over to touch. This lasted, at its very worst, for almost 5 days. I felt so horrible that I pretty much stayed in bed for 4 days and also had a fever that came and went. Went to urgent care the morning after initial hives breakout started, and was given a Benadryl injection. Benadryl barely helped at all. I had taken 50 mg the night before thinking it would help. I was prescribed prednisone to take at home if Benadryl injection and oral tablets didn't help. Ended up using Allegra instead in conjunction with Motrin/Tylenol. Finally having some relief going into day 6. Still have the prednisone on hand just in case the hives and swelling come back. | I honestly just think this antibiotic is horrible and will never take it again and will never recommend it to anyone. I suffered miserably for 5 days and felt like I was dying. I'm still trying to get back to normal and I'm still having itchiness here and there, though it is much better now thanks to the Allegra. Not even sure if this drug kicked my uti this time. I think I feel maybe 70% better, but if symptoms pop up again in full force I will definitely be getting a different antibiotic next time. | F | 27 | 7 days 200 MG 2X day | 7/15/2020 | 1 | UTI | 5 hours after taking tablet I experienced cramping in my limbs and severe weakness. Day 1 Dose 1, I only ate toast and then took it. I could not get out of bed. The waves of nausea were extreme. The remaining days I ate a heavy carb meal and waited 20-30 min then took the pill. The nausea was still pretty bad, but I could get out of bed to make it to the couch. I wake up every morning with diarrhea and this morning I puked 2x. I am so sore and tired. My head is so heavy I need naps about every 3 hours. This is so ridiculous. I went to urgent care to receive help so I could work and instead get poisoned. I have yet to see one single positive review. There are SO SO many better alternatives. I even told the doc I had been given Cipro in the past and it had worked, but she ignored it. | Take this off the market. I munch on cap'N'crunch). I really wanted to quit it before completing the dosage. Between the nausea and vomiting when I was awake and the drowsiness that set in after I felt miserable and spent all of my time in bed. Eating heavily, milk and pepto bismol did not help any of the stomach symptoms. I felt dehydrated quite often during this medication while sleeping; it was not uncommon that I would wake up just to drink something. Chills and Muscle Aches showed up on day 3 and subsided by day 6.
