| 5 | Depression and Anxiety | My doctor warned me that the first few days was going to be quite the roller coaster ride emotionally. Holy Moly. He was not kidding. for 5 days I was either manic or very depressed and almost suicidal a couple times. I would wake up in a sweat and not fall back asleep. But as the dose was increased to 300mg a day on the 7th day, things got a lot better. I felt like a big weight of anxiety was lifted off my shoulders and a fog of emotional turmoil was cleared away that was blinding me to how I reacted to everyone around me. For 13 years I suffered from a lot of built up pain from a previous relationship that I could not get over. I took it out on my wife and never realized it until now. Now that my mind has been freed from the fog I can actually see what I did to her and feel her pain. I've never been able to be in the moment, nor be able to sit down and read a book for more than a couple minutes or write anything. Wellbutrin changed all of that. Over the past couple weeks I have actually been able to sit down and enjoy reading 2 books and am working on the 3rd now. My wife is very surprised of the change. She always wished I would write her something, anything, from the heart. Until now I just could not get into the moment. Now I am always looking for the chance to write her love letters and she loves getting them. I am forever grateful to my doctor and Wellbutrin for giving me my life back and saving my marriage.
