| 1 | Gerd | Horrible Anxiety, intrusive thoughts, headache,feeling spaced out, ringing In my ears | I started taking Protonix back in March of 2023 it helped my Gerd right away. My doctor didn't warn me of any risk of long term use and I just trusted my doctor and no side effects right away. 4 months into taking I started having some anxiety and ringing in my ears...and started feeling spaced out.... I thought I was just under a lot of stress and going through a anxious time.. I was also changing jobs which I attributed to the situation. I really thought I was loosing my mind I went to the same doctor about my anxiety and they were clueless that this medication was causing these side effects... I was too I just didn't make the connection until 2 months later I started researching and found this page and was like wow....... I'm now a month and a half off of it.... I'm still dealing with the anxiety and the ringing in my ears but I have a little hope. Everyone on here that has responded said they did get through the side effects but it just takes some time.
