| 1 | Acid Reflux | Muscle spasms/contractions/muscle weakness | I reviewed Nexium March 19, 2017, two days after stopping it. I immediately had all spasms/contractions/twitching/feet bone and joint pain disappear the first day not taking the Nexium the night before. Now, it is more than 6 mths. since and those symptoms have never returned. I am still trying to get a diagnosis for continued muscle weakness in legs and arms. Regardless of the diagnosis I eventually get, I will always believe all this started with the long term taking of Nexium. Of course, there will never be any proof of it. I deeply regret taking this drug. It is awfully suspicious that severe bone and joint pain in ankles and knees literally disappeared overnight. These were symptoms I had progressively getting worse over a period of several years. | 1 | HIATAL HERNIA/ACID REFLUX | Extreme joint pain, numb legs/feet/hands, tingling all over, headache, blurry vision, fatigue, difficulty to concentrate, muscle cramps/twitching, pain behind eye. | I have taken Nexium for more than 10 years and many other PPI's for a total of approx. 20 years. I was a professional singer and the acid burning behind the vocal cords caused hoarseness. For most of the years, I did not have a problem with using these medicines. That has all changed! For about 1 1/2 years, my general health has deteriorated to the point I have barely been able to continue my job. All the horrible symptoms I've described in the side effects section have wreaked havoc on my usual excellent health. I have had a brain MRI, auto immune blood tests which were both normal. I have an upcoming appointment with a neurologist but don't feel I need it now. I stopped Nexium 3 days ago, and the very next day, the debilitating weak muscles, extremely painful joints/muscles is gone. This is the second morning waking not having taken Nexium the night before and I feel like another person. I think if I continued this drug, I would have ended up in a wheelchair or dead. I am a vital, high energy person, strong personality woman and never miss my job due to sickness. I am EXTREMELY GRATEFUL to have found this site and read the EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS I have had from many others. It is NO COINCIDENCE that my worsening health with extreme joint pain (knees and ankles), weak muscles, numbness in feet, legs, hands, burning and tingling all over, deep fatigue, muscle cramps and twitching muscles, difficulty to concentrate, brain fog, and blurry vision ruining my life for more than a | F | 69 | | 3/19/2017 | |
