| 1 | dr said I had high cholesterol | Aching legs especially muscles in thighs and calves. This got progressively worse. Could hardly walk. Also back pain and shoulder pain. One day I thought I was going to die. It was like a really, really bad flu. Some nights the pain was so bad I could not sleep unless I took pain killers which I don't want to do as these cause other side effects! I have stopped taking atorvastatin now for 4 days. Still feel ill but not quite as bad as before. | I started with 10mg x day and then started to experience some side effects so changed to taking 1 every other day. Side effects got worse. | 1 | dr said I had high cholesterol | I'm no longer taking this medication. I stopped taking three weeks ago now and still have most of the symptoms mentioned before Aching legs, muscles in thighs and calves very tight, unable to walk properly. However since I stopped I have some new symptoms - weakness in arms, tremors in hands, dizziness, pain in flank (like kidney pain but dr says it isn't), nausea, numbness in feet.
