| 4 | Anxiety/Panic | Maybe more talkative, chatty. No apparent weight change (but it's early). No apparent change in Libido; no change in sexual functionality or erectile capability (So, Yay). Crazy, epic, amazing dream activity (thumbs-up on that). | I began taking Celexa after a decade of using Paxil (successfully) to control anxiety and panic. The Paxil simply stopped working, over time. My doctor asked that I try Pristiq, which seemed to have worked for about six months. Not long ago, I slipped into a state of near-constant anxiety, with minor panic symptoms. I began taking low doses of Klonopin: 0.5mg, twice per day (totaling 1mg per day), for short-term relief. The doc prescribed Celexa. I've been on it for about five weeks; it seems to be doing it's job. I am less anxious and less likely to get that panic thing that pops up, occasionally. My outlook it better, in general, and I'm more outgoing. So far, based on a short duration of treatment with this med, I'd have to say that it's a good choice (for me). Note: the benefits didn't start showing up for at LEAST one month. Like all SSRI medications, one typically doesn't see any real effectiveness for several weeks, upon beginning. My hope is that this medication continues to work, and not "poop out", like the Paxil did. I'd be happy if I can get a good decade out of it. For now, I will continue taking 40mg of Celexa, and 1mg of Klonopin, daily. Over time, I may eliminate the Klonopin (slowly), should I feel that's an option. | M | 48 | 40mg 1X D | 3/8/2010 | |
