5  Migraines? None as yet? I have a Paradoxical effect with meds. I will use Adderal to help me sleep at night and get rid of my leg cramps. Today, I had a migraine and lethargic. I went thru my usual rituals of trying to feel better and nothing was working. I remembered that my new Primary doctor wanted me to start this new medicine; she said it was for my Migraines, BUT, I know why she wanted me to try it, (Just Diagnosed with Elemental Mercury Poisoning after 6 years of it destroying me mentally and physically). I thought to myself, what do I have to lose, let me try it today. AND I WAS RIGHT...all of the sudden I was organizing a drawer and thought to myself, why do I feel well enough to organize this drawer when I could be cleaning the bathrooms, etc...AND I realized, the new medicine had kicked in and instead of making me LETHARGIC like Adderall, it gave me a kick without any side effects. Just pure joy to have energy without any heart palpitations or a headache. 5 hours later, my headache did come back, but with only one Fiorcet I was good! So, now it is 11:30 at night and I am wide awake. I took this at 11:00am this morning. So, I decided to research what others are saying about this drug. I truly hope this is not a fluke. I really need a break. If I can feel as great as this everyday, I will be able to get my life back, WISH ME LUCK! I am comparing this drug to Forfivo 450XL. When the pharmacist told me to take it in the morning because it would make me hyper, I knew that I better take it at n F 51 1 days

4  Chronic tension headache, migraine Initially, dry mouth, dizziness, deep and long sleep, and slight weight gain (3-5 lbs). These side effects have subsided, and my weight has stabilized. Although I still get headaches regularly, they're much less frequent and less intense than before I started taking this medication. The medication seems to "re-set" my tension headaches, so they don't intensify into migraines over the period of a few consecutive "bad headache" days. For me, the side effects are worth the improved quality of life (and the side effects subsided after a week or two anyway). F 46 4 months

1  Migraines, insomnia, anxiety Increased hunger, more frequent headaches, more frequent anxiety attacks. Next day fatigue. I have never been so hungry in my life than on this medication. I constantly eat and once I'm done almost immediately feel hungry again. Gained weight in very short amount of time. It doesn't necessarily make me sleep better or longer but the next day o cannot seem to wake up and feel exhausted all day long. Also I have noticed my anxiety is heightened and I'm in a constant state of fear. and since taking it I've had a headache every single day. Not as bad as a migraine so I guess that's a plus but pretty annoying headaches that still disrupt my day to day. Will be working to wean off this med. No relief at all . F 24 2 weeks

5  Chronic complicated migraines initially gained about 10 pounds when started because of increased hunger , but was able to lose the weight over the course of the year by reducing carb intake This medication gave me my life back ! Was getting complicated migraines with vertigo , visual auras and severe nausea 3-4 x week , came close to having to resign from my nursing job . Side effects well worth it for me , now I only get migraines during menstrual cycle that require only Aleve or Tylenol . Completely able to stop taking imitrex , on 50 mg X1 year . F 45 1 years

1  migraines It seemed to be the ONLY med that helped my migraines however i was not informed of the weight gain. Had convinced myself i was having a baby due to all the weight gained and cravings. the only time i had ever felt that way was 11yrs ago with my son. After not missing my cycle and not having a pos test i started thinking of what was knew in my life started looking around i went from 123lbs to 140lbs in less then 2 mnths. I will no longer take it as of today and see if my weight and appetite goes back to normal Its sad that i had this effect. it has been the best thing ive found in yrs that helped my chronic migraines F 32 7 months

5  Depression and anxiety Dry mouth, fatigue I have tried Lexapro, Prozac, and Wellbutrin for my depression, and Amitriptyline is hands down the best. I am taking it for depression and anxiety, but it has also eliminated any digestive issues I previously had. I also struggled with little appetite for many years and I could not gain weight. This drug has fixed that too and now I eat what I feel to be a more appropriate amount for my height. It has been extremely helpful for anxiety and calming racing thoughts. It takes atleast a month to notice improvement in depression, but it has certainly been working. This drug saved my life. Also, it didn't affect my libido like the other, newer meds did. You will often read that drugs like Amitriptyline have many side effects compared to the newer medications, but I have found the opposite to case. I think a lot of the side effects are amplified by the companies trying to sell the newer drugs. M 25 2 months

1   It made me feel like I was crazy, I would get sporadic wiggling sensations in my left eye, making me feel as if a worm was in there. I would just sit there with a mirror trying to find a fictional worm in my eye. Needless to say I've stopped taking this drug. For Insomnia it work extremely well. But the side effect was a deal breaker. F 19 4 days

1  Chronic Migraines/ Anxiety Rapid Weight Gain, Uncontrollable Hunger, Nausea, Thirst, Sleeplessness When I started taking this medication, I was hoping to help my migraines. It didn't even TOUCH them. All I experienced from it was the side effects. I gained almost 10 pounds in 1 MONTH! I was starving all the time!! Seriously, I ate everything in sight and I had cravings for things I don't normally eat. On top of the hunger, I was nauseous. So strange. I was thirsty all the time, it would wake me up after i fought so hard to fall asleep. I was miserable to be around, per my husband. I do not recommend this medication. F 27 2 months

4  Chronic Migraines weight gain (13 lbs), sleepiness, and no more depression (even though that was not why I was on it.) I went from 18 migraine days a month to 6 - 8. And now that I am going through menopause, they are even less. But when I do get them sometimes they can be so bad, I can't stop throwing up. I think I end up in urgent care at least 6 or more times a year to stop the vomiting. F 50 3 years
