It is 8 1/2 months later and still have a UTI. I have been on antibiotics one after another. C scans MRIs. No answers. I took Evenity for 5 months total. I would never recommend them! I have decided stop Evenity | This is a new medication so that patients should be closely monitored not just for fatal outcome but for adverse effects that affect their overall health ( not just bones) & quality of life. My osteoporosis specialist did not do that. Just booked me in for halyear follow up to measure bone density changes. Tried one more month with loss of motor control, woke up with sharp knife behind right eye. When woke up discovered I had nocturnal urisis (peed the bed) pain in head so severe I became incoherent, had uncontrollable violent motor control and inhibited verbal response. This lasted for 5 1/2 hours and was the most horrific and frightening experience I've ever had. Doctor said I could have had a TIA but there was nothing to do about that. | Evenity is poison and toxic. I have had severe fractures and hoped evenity would be effective. I ended up with weakness, motor dysfunction that I'm still experiencing to a minor degree. Be very careful when deciding to have Evenity injections | F | 65 | 2 months 1X M | 11/16/2023 | 5 | Rib Frature- Osteoporosis | Had ovarian Cancer in my 20s so went thru premature menopause and with having cancer I couldn’t do hormone replacement so 1st dexa in 2016 after I broke a rib when my husband picked me up in a bear hug -showed osteopenia (-2.1) and tried Fosamax which caused severe stomach and kidney issues. Then was put on Actonel which put me in the hospital 5 days after 2nd dose, turned out to be Costochondritis Stopped taking it issue went away. Then in 2019 Tscore went down to -2.9 drs tried getting other meds approved but insurance just saw my age and denied. New rheumatologist got Evenity approved in 3 weeks and with the additional co pay card from the manufacturer I was able to afford it. Last dose was in July and new dexa in August had my bones almost normal. I had no real side effects, the shots themselves hurt pretty bad but my dr sprays the freezing stuff on my skin before administering and it helps. Will have a painful knot for a couple days but then fine for the rest of the month. Most days I'm in so much pain I can hardly move. Never had pain like this before taking Evenity. Shoulders, elbows, hips and knees are affected along with some muscle pain in my legs. One more to go and then we'll see if my osteoporosis has improved. If there's a significant improvement, it will have been worth it. If not, just a year of misery and mostly staying at home for nothing. As with any medicine, it will be the miracle for some and the misery for others.
