I had been taking enalapril, which only kept it borderline. By the second day with hydrochlorothiazide, it was down to 120/70 and stayed there. However, within a couple of weeks I had lost all interest in sex and could not maintain an erection. Within a few days of stopping, everything was back to normal! My doctor swore up and down this problem could not be caused by this med, but I see it well documented here.
