METHOTREXATE  (METHOTREXATE SODIUM):  Methotrexate is used to treat certain types of cancer or to control severe psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis that has not responded to other treatments. It may also be used to control juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Methotrexate belongs to a class of drugs known as antimetabolites. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells and suppressing the immune system. Early treatment of rheumatoid arthritis with more aggressive therapy such as methotrexate helps to reduce further joint damage and to preserve joint function.   (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA) FDA Approval Date: 1999-02-26

3  For autoimmune Morphea Scleroderma I feel bad, I got worse and I blamed the Methotrexate. I did not realize what was making me worse was the FOLIC ACID they prescribed to me. I felt awful due to the Folic Acid...I was inflamed so bad, joint pain, nerve pain, carpal tunnel exhaustion, flushing, just felt crappy!! The way I found out it was the FOLIC ACID was after I quit taking the Methotrexate and the Folic Acid, I felt better. But when I stopped taking my daily vitamin that had folic acid in it, I felt WAYYYY better. I lost 25 lbs of inflammation, caused by the folic acid. If you have pain nerve and joint, it might be the folic acid. There is also the MTHFR Gene that 40% of the population cannot process folic acid. I blamed Methotrexate because it was a pharmaceutical and now I know ALSO look at your vitamins. I decided to try diet changes to detox. Please know there is folic acid in a lot of foods, rice, pasta, bread, cereal, pizza, and deserts. Anything label that says "enriched" or "fortified" had folic acid in it . Do some research and you'll see what I mean. 7 months

3  Rheumatoid Arthritis Dizziness (quite strong after injection), nausea, fatigue, acne (was told by doc that this wasn't related but I know it is). Stomach cramps, brain fog. Symptoms changed over the weeks. During the second week, I had a headache on the day of injection. Thankfully, it went away after that. Haven't experienced headaches since. The biggest challenge is dealing with nausea, fatigue, and dizziness. It tends to be much worse a day or two after the shot and then slowly dissipates throughout the week. I personally don't love the way it makes me feel, but wouldn't stop it given that I had really severe joint pain before taking it. I still sporadically get pain in my hands and other joints - but not as frequent and intense. F 33 7 weeks
