At first I had no side effects but after the first week I started having trouble breathing, a heavy chest and chest pain unrelated to the heart. I know it’s not my heart as it feels like my chest bones are bruised, then sharp shooting pains a few days later. Along with muscle tension in the chest and neck. I know it’s the Brilinta as it is the only medicine I am taking besides a daily aspirin that I had already been on prior without any trouble. The doctor tells me the symptoms are normal due to the enzyme used in the medication is also the same enzyme in the lungs. I would like to take something else but at this time I can’t take plavix and have to be on this for a year. Different cardiologist took me immediately off this poison and started me back on plavix. On staff cardiologist said it was a reaction to the Brilinta and to discontinue as soon ad I 3as able to have my doctor prescribe Effient or Plavix. 4th day after discontinuing I still have shortness of breathe and jaw pain. Assuming this Brilinta poison is still in my system. | This drug should be removed from the market! After ~30min I was calling the nurses because I thought something was seriously wrong being very feint with palpitations. After a few hours the major effect subsided leaving me listless. Second dose in the morning of discharge I was walking out of the hospital when the same effect happened and I was readmitted to ER. Again after a few hours the effect subsided. That evening’s dose had me in a panic taking nitroglycerin and calling the docs. Another day of this went by. This morning I isolated the Brilenta from the other medications and,like clockwork, 30min in and I was on the floor. I switched to Plavix today and, so far, no acute adverse effects. I am an N=1 but please be aware of these side effects.
