4  ADHD Severe lack of appetite, lack of interest in caffeine which I was previously addicted to, insomnia if taken too late in the day, increased focus and interest in hobbies and school, lack of tiredness during the day. Severe nausea dizziness and tiredness if two or more days are missed, it is very very bad to the point that i can't go to school or work. Nausea if not taken with food. I originally started taking vyvanse for ADHD which it has greatly helped, however it has also helped me lose weight. I lost six pounds my first two weeks on it and have in total lost around 15 pounds since being on it without trying to, (the previous six months I had purposefully lost around 25 pounds). I have a BED which it helps, however I also have a restrictive disorder which it harms. I have to force myself to eat and forget if my mother doesn't remind me, it has brought me to tears in the past because it physically pains me to eat sometimes. I do not recommend this medication if you have or had an eating disorder, I was almost fully in recovery when I started this medication and it has made me regress. Objectively the pros and cons are the same for me, but I suggest exploring other options if they are available to you. Also if you are on the medication and struggling to eat I suggest a drink like breakfast essentials to get calories and it is easy to drink quickly to have something in your system. F 17 4.5 months

1  ADHD I have been taking vyvanse since I was 6. I have always been having trouble focusing in class and now that I'm 14 I can no longer feel any hunger. There has been times where I haven't ate for almost a week and its all because I cant tell if I'm hungry while taking vyvanse. At night I cant sleep until almost 4 am. Ill have stomach pains and have horrible migraines. When I stand up I feel like I'm about to pass out. I have to immediately sit back down. I have had 2 concussions from passing out. From having concussions I have more memory problems and have trouble doing tasks. Do not take vyvanse. It makes me feel horrible and the side effects are not worth it. I feel like someone is constantly stabbing me with a knife in my stomach and have to force myself to eat. Im pretty sure its going to kill me one of these days. M 14 8 years

1  ADHD I HATE IT. I can never sleep at night. I have to force myself to eat otherwise I will end up with a horrible migraine and feeling like I'm about to pass out. I cant focus because of the constant stomach pains and causes me to fail my classes at school. I highly recommend staying away from vyvanse. The side effects are horrible and make life miserable.  3  ADHD Loss of emotion, mild depression, loss of appetite, tiredness, whenever a day is missed an emotional outburst occurs. I feel vyvanse prevents me from feeling happy in life it makes me feel really sad or bored all the time and it's getting really annoying, I notice that when I've taken it I don't want to eat and I have to force myself to eat, it doesn't feel like eating just chewing and swallowing. Whenever I miss an everyday routine of taking it I have an emotional outburst and I start crying for no reason and start having a mental breakdown and I'm sick and tired of people telling me that I'm just a teenager and it's the hormones because it's not I notice the meds keep me from feeling and it bottles up my emotions against my will.  4  ADHD Tense jaw and shoulders, less blood circulation in feet, dry mouth, stomach pain Mental images are a lot more clearer, reaction speed seems twice as fast, music sounds better, I can focus on tasks while talking to people, happier person in general. If you take any antihistamines look up if it is compatible with Vyvanse or you may risk having very negative side effects such as my case where I took Polaramine before immunotherapy and a day later experienced symptoms comparable to a psychotic episode (Paranoia, hearing footsteps, figments in peripheral) Overall, In my experience, if I eat food high in protein and get enough sleep before taking Vyvanse I don't feel any adverse side effects throughout the day.  4  Attention-Span and Focusing Help My doctor prescribed me 40mg Vyvanse for the thought that I may have ADD/ADHD, which is definitely probably true, but I've mostly hoped it would help with weight loss. For the first few days on the drug, everything seemed to flow smoothly and my attention span was way a lot better than usual. Just the usual expected side effects such as loss of appetite, sweating, and now I'm basically always feeling a little warm. After a week or so the Vyvanse seemed to have little effect on me (I would take them every day at 7am, and then feel sleepy by 10am). Went back to the doctor after a month and she first wanted to bump me up to 60mg, but decided to go ahead and give me a 70mg instead. First day on the new dose of the drug drug was fine, but I took it at 12pm stupidly. I was VERY attentive, not hungry at all that day, and cleaned everything, but could not sleep AT ALL that night and felt sick from it the next morning as well as a tight chest, so I didn't take it that day. Took my second one today at my proper time of 7am and everything seems to be good. No appetite, a little warm, super attentive. I do feel my throat becoming a little tight (or maybe numb) but I also am just getting over a sore throat so I believe it's just the medicine making it more sensitive, nothing alarming though. Hopefully I'll see some weight loss soon! Oh, and my grades are better than ever! As a senior in high school this medication helps a lot. F 17 1 months

4  ADHD Jaw clenching, rashes on my hands, feet and legs get very itchy at night, upper abdominal pain, random ear ringing, some appetite loss, extreme fatigue around 1p.m. everyday, some confusion I have had such a weird experience with Vyvanse. The effects were all over the place, but it helps me a lot. Every now and then when I'm working I get too focused and think too hard and get confused but it doesn't happen that often. Overall I'll take the side effects of what it does for me. It keeps me awake in the morning, I am always exhusted and could never make it through the day if I didn't take a morning nap. This helps me stay awake until needed a nap until around noon to one. F 17 1 months

3  ADHD Severely decreased appetite. Increased anxiety. Lack of emotion. Insomnia. Increased heart rate. Nausea. Dizziness. Weight loss. I have depression and anxiety. This medicine kind of mutes my depression but it doesn't make it any better. I feel numb to emotion. Which is just as bad, if not worse than, being sad all the time. In addition to muting my depression, it has made my anxiety worse. I always have a pit in my stomach feeling as if something is about to go wrong at any given moment. When I have anxiety, I get nauseous and my heart rate increases, which is also what I am experiencing. But my heart rate jumps to 115 from just walking across the room and I find myself out of breath. My resting heart rate on this medicine is about 95 and I'm in good shape so it should definitely be lower. This is also a problem because I love to work out. I forget to eat or sometimes I just don't want to eat because I am not the least bit hungry, which, once again, is a problem because I love to work out and extreme workouts in 90 degree weather on an empty stomach is beyond unhealthy.  1  Severe adhd my whole life. Always tired but I don't wish to sleep. Severe appetite loss. I'm no longer happy. Anxiety and depression. Blurry vision and muscle aches. Tunnle vision and a lot of anger. I feel completely emotionless. Over the weekend when I don't use it I feel like a completely different person. I stoped taking it for 2 months and I gained 10 pounds. It is hard for me to get past the side effects. M 17 4 years

1  To help focus No appetite, bad headaches, body aches, dry mouth, insomnia Although I am not prescribed and do not recommend using without prescription, it didn't work out for me as planned. I've tried it twice with the hopes of better results the second time around, however it was the same exact thing. Did not help me focus whatsoever, I felt completely normal as if I never even took it. I do feel a bit off like out-of-body feeling but nothing crazy. And the only other noticeable difference is that I don't realize how talkative I am, all I want to do is talk to someone while on vyvanse. Other than that it does absolutely nothing but make me feel bad later on with the side effects. F 17 2 days

4  Add It help a bunch with school, but I play football. And when we have practice I don't have any excitement. I feel as if I'm just going through the motions and don't have any drive to compete with my teammates. I feel like have become less aggressive. I was 245lbs when I started vyvanse and I'm down to 215lbs I'm not fond of this excessive weight loss. M 16 6 months

4  Adhd Loss of appetite ,weight loss but when I don't take it I'm extra hungry , dry mouth , I urinate & poop 50 times a day while on this & I don't eat oR drink anything , insomnia I hate the dry mouth & binge eating when not on it but I can see a difference in school and work when I'm on it and the weight loss is a plus I just wish It didn't have those extra side effects & the trick to getting your sleep back is by taking the medication earlier in the day for ex I take mines at 7 am F 17 2 years

3  Impulsiveness, ADHD, eating habits I experience intense stomach pains, extreme headaches, loss of appetite and appeal to foods, not being able to fall asleep at night, either being very positive or very lazy and not committed. I don't entirely recommend it. Yes t helps with my ADHD but the side effects are no joke and can impact your day. It's hard to do normal everyday things when I can't move due to an upset stomach.  1  ADD/ADHD Anorexia, depression, head aches, stomach aches, irritability, messed up sleep patterns, really bad dry mouth, severe dizziness, confusion, bad memory, trouble forming sentences(stuttering,) nausea, diarrhea, minor hair loss, major weight loss. I've only been taking Vyvanse for a week and three days but instead of making me feel concentrated I just constantly focus on the wrong things, get confused, forget what I'm saying mid sentence, and forget basic stuff I need to remember for school. I constantly want to punch someone, or cry in a ball on the floor. My throat is so dry to the point I almost can't even swallow my spit. My sleep pattern is so messed up some nights I go to bed at two A.M and others at 6 P.M. I've hardly eaten, and lost over 10 pounds in just over a week, and when I do try to eat I feel sick for hours. I can't property form a full sentence because my mouth gets to dry, or I start stuttering. My stomach and head hurt really badly for at least a few hours everyday. The worst part is my grades went from, B C C D F, to F D D F F. Everything sucks and I hate these meds F 14 1 weeks

5  ADD Loss of appetite for sure, I'll get a head ache if I forget to take it but other than that nothing else. I have been struggling with ADD through out my life and I've literally tried everything and I mean everything, and stopped about 6th grade, I didn't take any ADD medication throughout highschool till a couple weeks ago and I've been struggling with my classes until I started taking Vyvanse I brought my 49% in geometry to a 72% within a matter of weeks. this is the second year taking the class and its never been easier to understand, still a hard subject for me but not too bad anymore. Just over all I've never been more satisfied with a ADD pill I actually like taking it and I used to hate taking pills everyday. M 17 3 weeks
